2006 rx6 se

Hello all,

I tried searching for it but couldn't find any on this question.

What is the Difference between the 2006 RX8 SE and the 2006 RX8 GT in North America.

I noticed the obvious:
SE is cloth not leather
SE seats aren't electric
SE doesn't have the chrome accents
SE doesn't have the heated seats.
SE still has the remote entry but not the fancy Fob key

It has:
DSC
6sp manual with 9000 redline (I think that means it has the higher output engine)
sun roof
the 18" wheels
fog lights
spoiler
AC
Bose

On a side note I found the exterior trim on ebay for a very little $$$

During the test drive my butt-dyno couldn't tell if there difference but I just want to make sure.

I've been looking for some time and came across the car with the colors and transmission i want except it's an SE not a GT.
Is there any performance difference? If so what can i check?

Thanks for your time,
-Rob

there is no SE model designation...

but i dunno im sure since you have a list of options there, that a few minutes on this site or google will tell you what your "SE" is and you can then compare to GT specs

what you're referring to is probably SE3P... its part of a VIN code. rx-7s were FB's FC's FD's, the 8 is SE. but it has nothing to do with model options, every RX-8 is a SE3P

What you already listed is pretty much all of the significant differences between Sport and GT. I can't really think of any others. The "fob key" (I think you're referring to the switchblade?) has nothing to do with the type of package you get; I'm pretty sure that the switchblade keys were introduced in the 06 models and were standard ever since. Wheel diameter has nothing to do with trim. I drive a sport with 18'' wheels and so do many other drivers.

Another thing you seem to be confused about: Manual transmission isn't exclusive to GT models; there's plenty of MT sports and plenty of auto GTs. Transmission has nothing to do with trim. Automatic transmissions do have the lower redline/lower HP engine, though.

I guess that's about it. Also, what do you mean by "AC"? Every 8 has air conditioning.

no performance difference as long as its manual in the states, they all have the same engine.
