ok, so its an rx7 body, with rx badging, and a chev 350 engine?

that isnt any rx car! they took out the one defining feature, the rotary engine...

that's because there is no rotary option.

Mugatu 09-30-2005 10:36 AM

also, it's an 'rx7-8' car. it can't decide which car it should be.

i know that, but given the fact that its an 85 rx78 makes me believe he doesn't know and picked the right choice.

What I was rather fond of was "Doors: 2 or more". Very helpful for the buyer who is really looking to stay away from any of those 1-door models you see all over the road these days.

He wants $16 grand for that pile?

he put the rx-8 badge on and probably forgot which it was

Pretty cool car on it's own, but yah too expensive and the RX-8 badging is just stupid. I would rather have the rotary engine too, but this one could be fun, although I wonder how they handled the HUGE weight difference up front.

I had an '85 RX-7. This guy has committed caricide.

That car has to drive like an over-powered grocery cart. They took a car with a 140 engine block and swapped in a 650 lb engine that's further forward? With that much power, here's what will happen:

Rear end: Toast - I went through rear end main yoke seals like kleenex on my 1985 RX-7. it couldn't handle the driveline shock and torque from my lightly-tweaked RX-7 (timing adjustments, higher flow fuel pump, over-jetted carb, polished/ported intake manifold), let alone this thing.

Rear traction - I could get rear wheelspin with my 107 HP 12A carbureated engine. Can't imagine what changing the weight bias of the car, and then 3x the power will do to that!

Handling - the nose of that has to plow like a John Deere.

Yikes.

Shouldn't be that big of an issue with all the speaker weight in the back.......

boy what a steal at 11k

PaulieWalnuts 09-30-2005 05:42 PM

I looked at it and thought "wow , that looks exactly like an RX-8"
