Question 10k service

Just wondering, is the 10K service really that important? I just got my car 600 miles over 10K, and wonder what the dealer will do for this service?

kick your tires, refill the oil, check your transimission fluids, and make sure everything is still in place and collect the cash...

Oil change.

I think I got a flash update at my 10K. That's the only explaination I have for a sudden improvement in gas mileage (16 mpg to 18 mpg).

You don't have to go to the dealer for oil/filter to keep the warranty valid, just make sure you keep records and receipts for all recommended maintenance.

Yes, you can, but he asked if it was really that important to get it done- and it does need to be done one way or the other, whether you the owner do it, or the dealership does it. They'll use any excuse to void a warranty.
