I am looking at buying an 07 RX8 Sport with the base radio system. I want to be able to use my mp3 player/ sirius etc. I have already done searches and know what options exist (please don't flame), but had two questions about the 2007 models specifically.

1. Does anyone know if the tape deck module still will work with the 2007 models? I see it no longer listed as an option and this link makes me think it might not since it says 2004-2006:

and when I went to

They also only list 2006 as tested.

2. If those won't work what other option do I have that would involve too much hacking. I did see this product as well:

But does anyone know if this should work with a stock radio?

Convert, why are you still carrying a torch for cassettes? Not passing judgement here, but I'm not getting it at all.

 

So I can play my Poison tapes Seriously I want a tape deck so I can use a tape adapter which I then can use modern devices such as mp3 players and sirius radio.

I have a BN '07, and the dealer has iPod adapters in-stock for my set-up (Bose system, 6-CD changer), and I noticed neat DIY article on installing the Sirius Starmate Replay S2 kit in MazdaSport Magazine this month (issue 4-2007). Slick, easy install, judging by the photos and text. That's about all I can relate on the subject, good luck!

yuck... nothing like cutting your sound reproduction down to less than FM radio standards.

Plug in with an aftermarket adapter like the sylfex or any number of input adapters instead
