$66 to fill up in canada, how much for u to fill it?

Well with the cdn dollar so strong, our gas prices continue to rise... we already paid more in the first place, but now we're paying out the ass for gas.

So thats like $4.15per gallon for the lowest regular priced gas.

time to invest in a new credit card consisting of a garden hose, ski mask and breath mint.

DaveCM203 11-11-2007 12:45 PM

our U.S. dollar is getting weaker and prices are rising. That Prius is starting to look like a possibility. Nah. I will just ride my motorcycle to work more often.

champi0n 11-11-2007 12:53 PM

Maybe time to invest in a hydrogen converstion? I've not found any information on how the current rx8 hydrogen/gasoline is built or works.

StealthTL 11-11-2007 01:19 PM

Burning hydrogen as a fuel is a science fiction non-starter.

I would be amazed if it ever got going, even to the prototype stage. There are HUNDREDS of better fuels, more energy dense, more eco-friendly, burning hydrogen in a motor is just a dead end. The best use for it, if it ever becomes available is in a fuel cell/electric vehicle. Other fuels can contaminate the membranes , but H2 is a good pure solution.

Hear me now, and believe me later.....

Because the Canadian Dollar is worth more against the U.S. Dollar at any time since 1973, it makes no sense that gasoline prices in Canada are so high.

A stronger domestic currency = more purchasing power.

I realize Canada is a net exporter of crude oil, so maybe refinery capacity or governmental taxes are responsible?

In the U.S. the dollar is trading weaker against almost every foreign currency, including the Yen, thanks to our idiotic federal reserve (that keeps slashing our interest rates even though interest rates are already low rates). The more they cut rates, the less our dollar is worth. That's one reason why we're paying $96+ USD for a barrel of crude oil.

ocrapitzleon 11-12-2007 01:28 AM

i pay avg of 33-35 $ but keep in mind, i usually fill up before the light comes on

nycgps 11-12-2007 07:08 AM

It has nothing to do with CDN rising or whatever.

Just gotta say thanks to Bush and his friends in the office.

Last fillup cost me 44, rising again.

BigRed 11-12-2007 07:46 AM

45$

RshnRoket 11-12-2007 07:58 AM

31-33 USD per tank. I usually fill up about 10-11 gallons at a time. Fill up at a quarter of a tank.

Jasonawojo 11-12-2007 08:48 AM

$45 from the light coming on in FL. Been using Premium, might try mid once the engine is broken in.

Jethro Tull 11-12-2007 10:19 AM

I fill up between 3/4 and 1/2 tank. Typical "top-off" is about $12-$17 USD for premium.

But since the 8 is my weekend 'fun' car and not a DD, it usually takes 3 to 5 weeks to burn an entire tank's worth.

I also use the fuel discounts we earn at the local grocer's. Good for up to 30 cents off per gallon, our typical discount is 20 - 25 cents. Adds up with time to a respectable discount.

sleeperx8 11-13-2007 01:42 AM

$43 yesterday... had about two "bars" left

In summer when it was 1.21 I paid that, or better.. but WOW...!

4me2 11-13-2007 08:34 PM

$3.29 a gallon. WTF? I need to watch the news........

WoodsOfGreenRx8 11-13-2007 08:38 PM

Yea, we are paying around 3.20ish for Premium here. I haven't filled up the RX8 as of late but last time I filled my G35 up from when the empty light comes on it was about $55. I need to fill up soon, so we will see what happens then since gas has gone up..

Brettus 11-13-2007 08:53 PM

so - I have the record . Yay for NZ !

Unfortunately electric vehicles probably represent the future. I say unfortunately because when it comes to driving, I doubt the "Zoom zoom zoom" experience we enjoy now will be a part of the age of electric vehicles.

I'm grateful that I lived during the heyday- perhaps even the peak- of the internal combustion engine as automotive powerplant.

I can't imagine listening to "Little Deuce Coupe" in an electric car. :icon_no2:

I hope that I can live the rest of my life without having to experience the electric, "smart", "green", efficient, boring, bubble "vehicle". I love my gas-guzzling, purring rotary with perfect handling and perfect synergistic driving experience.

God Bless America! Sniff! :)

eddiec727 11-13-2007 11:55 PM

I live in florida, i fill up by the quarter tank mark and end up paying around $40, premium gas.

Silver_Surfer 11-14-2007 12:15 AM

Just about there-Hawaii

turborx8 11-14-2007 12:24 AM

I live in Canada and my turbo rx8 sucks up an insane amount of fuel.

I am spending $600/mth on average in fuel.
