I get my oil changes done at the dealer for $35.... For three reasons. One I'm lazy, two it's apparently cheaper and three which is my primary reason, there's a maintenance record at the dealer should i run into any engine trouble. Makes warranty issues a lot easier.
And i get a free car wash with it too

I'd rather do it so I know what I used and that the crush washer and plug was replaced.
You can just put your old filter in the new filters box and write with a sharpie on the box what mileage it was changed at. Save your collection and when you run into a warranty problem, I'd say showing real filters is just as good as maintenance from the dealership. I've been doing this ever since I heard others on this forum saying they do it.

Better yet you can go to www.mymazda.com and put your records in the same place the dealer puts them. I also keep a log book with all my receipts. I spend about $30 on oil and a filter + maybe 5 to drive to buy those things.

Chino advance auto says you can return anything within 90 days from the date of purchase, but I assume you need your receipt. If they have a rewards program like autozone then they can just look up your purchase through that.

I change my oil every ~3k miles so for me it is over priced. I don't know how the royal purple holds up past 3k miles but I know my pennzoil is filthy at that point.

I returned **** I bought from almost 2 yrs ago, I just said I'm not "HAPPY" with my purchase ... Well the real reason was because the **** doesn't fit when it's supposed to be DIRECT fit. yeah it took me a while before I have time to "try" to fit it, but hey, I didn't lie, right?
