so how about that illuminated shift knob? :D:

elcolombiano91 01-21-2009 08:01 PM

+2 on illuminated shift knob but it should come in different colors *cough *blue **cough**

rowteree 01-26-2009 04:58 PM

license plate relocation kit? kinda like the evo style

Jedi54 01-26-2009 04:59 PM

^^^ bad idea, you'll block airflow to the oil coolers. Not good...

renesisking 01-26-2009 06:50 PM

idk if this'll be too much, but how about with the illumination shift knob that will glow the number that the gear that the car is in....for example if you're in 6th it'll only glow 6, and when you put it in neutral it'll glow all of them? im fine with a normal illuminated shift knob, i just thought it would be cool, and id have to agree with elcolombiano....different colors.

paulmasoner 01-26-2009 06:53 PM

^^ tht'd be bad ass but it would make install a fair bit more complex as well as desgin and cost. the only feasible way i would know of to create a circuit that would illuminate based on gear selection would be to have multiple sensors in place under there

robrecht 01-26-2009 07:01 PM

There is already something like that--uses an accelerometer to try and guess which gear you've shifted into most recently. Doesn't work too well from what I've ready. Personally, I would rather listen to the engine and look at the tachometer on ocassion.

restiller 01-26-2009 07:13 PM

how about a decent coat hanger?

maybe it goes through the rotor hole in the seat, or it extends from the baby harness in the back?

i'm an industrial designer so i am willing to share some thoughts.

and another vote for the SS cap over the e-brake button. The silver paint or whatever it is on mine is starting to peel off.

Thanks.

I had an 04 that the silver paint bubbled, and that was a replacement from warranty issue, and I just got a 05 shinka that has the same problem. I am all about appearance. and the cap over the shifter knob really cleaned up the abuse the jackass before put on the shifter ( and much cheaper than a new shifter knob). Are two votes enough for a production run?

If someone could figure out how to do this, I'd definitely buy one.

Has anyone mentioned different sun visors? Perhaps in carbon fiber? :D:

Those stock perforated sun visors are just not my cup of tea, I kinda hate how they let in some light when my intentions are to block it out completely. Even it its just an overlay, I'd love to see something like that.

yinRXc8 02-11-2009 01:44 AM

I just saw one of those "You Just Got Beat By a Wagon" License Frames on a Subaru WRX Wagon the other day. How about a "You Just Got Beat By a 1.3L" License Frame?

I've wondered if there's any other sun visors that might work on the 8. I'd like slide out panels that block more light like on my wife's Honda Pilot.

No, I'm thinking of slide out panels that provide a much larger visor when you need it. The perforations actually don't bother me that much, just tilt the visor a little.

restiller 02-12-2009 12:57 PM

ah. drop the sunglasses holder for that :p

but i know what u mean.

Ryoma-kun 02-28-2009 01:55 PM

You guys should add more of the 'Before - After' pictures so people really see the difference and what it will look like. And when you change the color of bulbs you wanna buy, the pictures change to the same color as well.

Hmm ... I may try that, but it wouldn't help on the sides, which seems to be where I need it the most.

Yes, that would be brilliant. Some of them actually already do it though.

But I would like to see the illuminated shift knob, but not just in red, I have blue interior lights. footwell lights. and custom cupholder lights. I would love a blue shifter to match.

Maybe a flying "M" emblem as well, because some of us want one, but don't want to mess up the one emblem we have trying to cut it...

Ryoma-kun 02-28-2009 02:48 PM

Yeah I have a good suggestion, sponsor me with free bulbs for all lights and I'll take pictures for you? XD

WTBRotary! 02-28-2009 05:51 PM

Hey ok so how about this, since yall deal with alot of lights etc.

Me and a few members around the area have been thinking about a LED light strip or rope that you can affix with 3M double sided tape inside your fender fents and shines out when you turn on your headlights... for example you'll have blue coming out shining through the fender vents at night, the power source can come from the clear corners... anyone like the idea because id love for someone to make a kit for it...

People have done this, but it doesn't shine through well. IF they could make it shine through well enough I would buy about a billion of them.
