Any chance for a black painted grill ... I noticed you have black painted strakes up... maybe as a set?
|
-CF version of the OEM front chin spoiler
-CF version of the R3 side skirts -Padding for the armrest/center console lid -Some kind of kit for the handbrake, similar to auto exe but something that makes the lever angle lower... like a normal car. -Replacement buttons/ bulbs/ overlays to correct the mismatched color on the heated seat buttons |

I think a side repeater (turn signal) would improve safety. Since you guys like to mod the fender vents, how about this:
A side repeater that you could add to the top of the fender vent. It could follow the curve of the vent, be held on with tape, the wiring could run through the top vent holes that were covered. As low profile as possible, black housing and smoked lense so it's stealthy. LED, of course. Then when you signal you see it. Very quick photoshop attempt below: https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1228440373 https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1228440373 We've actually talked about this and think it's great idea. No promises, but we'll definitely be looking into it. :-) |
how about the illuminated shift knob? the jdm one is expensive as heck...
|
Convex side view mirror glass
How about designing a high quality convex mirror glass to overlay over top of the existing side view mirror glas? Try as I might, I just can't get used to my mirrors all the way extended out. (I need to see the side of the car too).
I don't want to buy the cheap stick on convex mirrors but how about a FULL convex piece of mirror glass to put over top of the existing mirrors? This would eliminate all blind spots. Even with the stock mirrors all the way extended, there is a blind spot. |
Just making sure..Convex is that blue glass that BMW's come with, right? I think they have this from D-Technique already... but wicked expensive. It's on Japanparts.com for like.. $160
I also second on the lighted foot sill... especially in the color of that AMG one. The nice dim blueish look. Now THAT looks hot. I hate bling..but I'd get that anyday. |
Convex is a brand? I was thinking he literally meant a mirror which is convex in shape.
|
I was thinking convex the shape, not the name brand.
|
...Shows what I know. lol. I thought he mean't that blue type mirror that is wider in terms of what it shows people.
|
I would like to second the SS cap over the e-brake button. I had an 04 that the silver paint bubbled, and that was a replacement from warranty issue, and I just got a 05 shinka that has the same problem. I am all about appearance. and the cap over the shifter knob really cleaned up the abuse the jackass before put on the shifter ( and much cheaper than a new shifter knob). Are two votes enough for a production run?

^+ 85 ... I can no joke.. name 5 others..maybe more that would hop on that as well besides me.
|
+2 on the illuminated shift knob and on the lighted foot still
|
illuminated shift knob and the lighted foot still are both way legit ideas. i must add to the idea making of rx8strakes.com to possibly selling custom subwoofer boxes for the rx-8 because the boxes made elsewhere run extremely steep. And even on the cheaper side some more window decals~~ such as ones that read Rx-8 and Mazda and MazdaSpeed. Decals that are bigger and some that you can even put on the sunroof/moonroof.

what id love to see .
rotor shape exhaust tips. more carbon fiber parts. ms fake carbon fiber ones are way to much money. inner door handle cups made form carbon fiber can be over lay. cant find any place that sells these but seen them on ebay. badges . color matched and carbon fiber. for the person who complained about the heated seat buttons not being the right color, cheap fix is get red window tint and cut to size a real pain tho. |

you guys should make replacements for the silver center console strips. matching colors for the cars and cf. id get some black ones. the silver is horible and gets scratched easily.

instead of side marker lights, maybe a set of blanks. i never use my turn signals anyway, rather have it blacked out completely.
|
+1 for the shift knob,
+1 for a new gril, preferebly a stock replacement w/out the blocked out holes for my racingbeat intake +1 for the aluminum trim on the center console +1 for the side repeater turn signal and id really love to have a cf rear roof spoiler over the glass with vortex generators like the evos. i think it would give the cars a much nicer look personally. |
Don't know if its been said yet but here it goes....I know a lot of people like the clean shaved emblem look, because personally i feel the back is too cluttered. The issue is its costly to fill the holes left over from the emblems being removed. So im thinking something something like a magnetic panel or 3m to attach from tailight to tailight like in the mustang shown here.
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...t-img_4324.jpg just an idea. |
+1 for the illuminated shift knob and the sidemarkers, although how bout a rotor shaped sidemarker? :D:
|
so how about that illuminated shift knob? :D:
|
+2 on illuminated shift knob but it should come in different colors *cough *blue **cough**
|
license plate relocation kit? kinda like the evo style
|
^^^ bad idea, you'll block airflow to the oil coolers. Not good...
|
idk if this'll be too much, but how about with the illumination shift knob that will glow the number that the gear that the car is in....for example if you're in 6th it'll only glow 6, and when you put it in neutral it'll glow all of them? im fine with a normal illuminated shift knob, i just thought it would be cool, and id have to agree with elcolombiano....different colors.
|
^^ tht'd be bad ass but it would make install a fair bit more complex as well as desgin and cost. the only feasible way i would know of to create a circuit that would illuminate based on gear selection would be to have multiple sensors in place under there
|
There is already something like that--uses an accelerometer to try and guess which gear you've shifted into most recently. Doesn't work too well from what I've ready. Personally, I would rather listen to the engine and look at the tachometer on ocassion.
|
how about a decent coat hanger?
maybe it goes through the rotor hole in the seat, or it extends from the baby harness in the back? i'm an industrial designer so i am willing to share some thoughts. |

and another vote for the SS cap over the e-brake button. The silver paint or whatever it is on mine is starting to peel off.
Thanks. mkztg

Has anyone mentioned different sun visors? Perhaps in carbon fiber? :D:
Those stock perforated sun visors are just not my cup of tea, I kinda hate how they let in some light when my intentions are to block it out completely. Even it its just an overlay, I'd love to see something like that. |
I just saw one of those "You Just Got Beat By a Wagon" License Frames on a Subaru WRX Wagon the other day. How about a "You Just Got Beat By a 1.3L" License Frame?

ah. drop the sunglasses holder for that :p
but i know what u mean. |
You guys should add more of the 'Before - After' pictures so people really see the difference and what it will look like. And when you change the color of bulbs you wanna buy, the pictures change to the same color as well.

But I would like to see the illuminated shift knob, but not just in red, I have blue interior lights. footwell lights. and custom cupholder lights. I would love a blue shifter to match. Maybe a flying "M" emblem as well, because some of us want one, but don't want to mess up the one emblem we have trying to cut it... |
Yeah I have a good suggestion, sponsor me with free bulbs for all lights and I'll take pictures for you? XD
|
Hey ok so how about this, since yall deal with alot of lights etc.
Me and a few members around the area have been thinking about a LED light strip or rope that you can affix with 3M double sided tape inside your fender fents and shines out when you turn on your headlights... for example you'll have blue coming out shining through the fender vents at night, the power source can come from the clear corners... anyone like the idea because id love for someone to make a kit for it... |
