Using a Renesis motor for a rotospit
I have an 8 and I'm starting to think about putting together a Triumph Spitfire with a rotary engine. I'm going to swap in a Miata rear subframe and diff. I'm trying to decide between using a NA 13B engine vs a 13B-MSP. I would love to go turbo but don't know about space. I'm going rotary period. What are the advantages of the 6 port or the REW?

Rotospit
Did you ever complete your project? I am working on something similar. Would love to see pics and swap notes.

Other Chassis for a Rotary
I have been enamored with rotary engines since 1970. Wrote my first mechanical engineering term paper about rotary engines.
Earlier this year I acquired a 6 port RX8 engine and six speed manual transmission. I also bought a 1974 Jensen Healey as a recipient, but that has a Stroker 2.2 Lotus engine, too sweet to pull out.. So another possible destination is a local Opel Manta sport coupe. Much more press about taking the Renesis OUT of the RX8 vs putting it Into something else. I see a Spitfire and Lotus 7. how challenging would the Opel be? Even a bone stock Renesis would be a tremendous power increase! |
