13B Engine Mount for Mazda RX8 RX7 FD REW 13B Engine Swap Stock RX8 6 Speed | eBay

That thing is huge :) Not sure why they figure it needs to be that solid

What is the last picture in the series? An LSx swap? Maybe that's what's up with this it fits on an existing LS mount??

TeamRX8 04-15-2015 07:49 PM

Wut?

Funny, it looks like the pictures from the top, the motor is just sitting in there on the stock cross member, and the under car shots are of half the mount bolted onto a V8 swapped car.

TeamRX8 04-16-2015 03:02 AM

Think you are not seeing it clearly. This still mounts to the rear part of the front subframe just like the OE cross-brace. 7 Ga stainless steel qualifies as a reinforced nuclear bunker grade poophouse. It must weight 30 lbs.

Probably because they offer it as part of an LSX swap kit

And also as a more extensive 13B reinforced PPF/chassis kit too:

Some parts are available individually as well. Seems well built even if excessively so, but $600 for just mounting the engine is probably more than most people will pay ...

They are now offering manifold/downpipe combo to go with the mount.

Like I said more products coming out to $hit can the renny than keep it....
when wanting to making more power with a RX-8 ;)

Wow I just saw it. Looks like good quality and the downpipe even fits the stock cat back. :naughty: Tempting.

This is always a good thing

I'm happy the RX-8 is getting some more aftermarket products only thing I won't enjoy is going to the track and seeing every drift RX8 with and LSx in it. (everyone at top drift has a LSx swap something 500+whp :shocking: nope everyone's car is the same basically)

going to be buying one of these very soon I will do a review here in the future once the car is complete if no one beats me to it. ( going with a s366 trying to keep the budget low, anyone know of a better turbo option for 1000$ or less? going to be a track build very mild stock jspec engine 350+whp is the goal)

CX 13B Turbo Engine Mount Manifold Downpipe for RX8 RX 8 Swap RX7 FD REW | eBay

When I think about my 6 speed trans has high miles wonder how long it will hold up might have to opt for a j-spec 5 speed will work with the kit? any who looks good and is fairly priced I have the KMR REW mounts. Hopefully more guys will swap REW's and we can get some solid feed back.

They're making it easy.

now that I think of that s366 isn't water cooled need to look for a better option.

CX 13B Engine Mount Turbo Intercooler Intake Manifold Downpipe Kit for RX8 Swap | eBay

Just noticed they sell a complete drop in swap kit. Looks promising. @Comebackqid you wanna be the Guinea pig and report back lol?!

LiveWire 08-17-2015 10:07 PM

Here is a quote: "All bearings on all rotating components on any engine or turbo is oil cooled. The casings, liners and heads are what is water cooled."

If the turbo is operating in a nice efficiency range, provided piping is efficient, your oil cooling capacity is good, there should not be a problem with a journal bearing oil cooled turbo. It is when you start to push things that it can help to have water cooling.

Kit looks ok, not blingy enough for me and turbo is too hidden. Seems like the position limits turbo size though. That oil filler neck looks super funky. I'd be very interested to hear someone's experience with it. Not bad overall, I suppose the real test is how it actually performs.

Yes... yes I will I just saw the full kit as well going to be ordering it it very soon! Gonna start a build thread I'm trying to see if the turbo is water cooled. gonna call tomorrow and ask. Also gonna run a tial 44mm waste gate instead of that one, etc.

Going with adaptronic for the ecu and may just eliminate power steering all together but we'll see.

Good to know thanks for the info! They say the kit can fit a T76 compressor housing pretty good size.

You can keep power steering if you keep the rx8 Crank sensor. You just need to use the trigger wheel and sensor on either the rew front cover or machine the rx8 front cover to use on the rew. You'll also need the rx8 throttle body for traction control and such. Now someone needs to come up with solutions for those. So we can have a complete swap and I can start pulling my Renesis out lol.

Dietbudda 08-18-2015 11:48 AM

I use a REW front cover with a relocated ESS to replicate the location of the factory Renesis ESS on the REW front cover.
It was fabricated by Banzai racing.

I think I saw the setup in your build thread. So you're using the FFE pulley kit with rx8 trigger wheel? And then banzai bracket to hold the rx8 ESS?

nlsolja123 08-22-2015 02:26 PM

Does the front covers allow the ess sensor to fix in the original spot ? I have Mazda edit and would like to keep it

any one have any issues fitting CXRacing Exhaust Manifold with the Xcessive LIM?

I don't have the cxracing manifold, but the stock LIM and excessive LIM are relatively the same size. The only real difference is that the excessive manifold shifts the UIM and everything upstream about an inch forward toward the front of the car and away from the firewall.....

RJStyles 01-18-2019 02:16 PM

I ask because CX Racing claims that you have to buy there LIM to fit the Exhaust Manifold. but Xcessive is the most widely used. so it begs the question of whether or not it is just fancy language to get you to buy more of their products, or will really not fit. CX has been horrible at answering emails...
