Ballpark figure, you're probably looking at $100,000, minimum.

Step 1 : Buy an Xbox and copy of Forza Motorsport
Step 2 : Buy an RX8 in game and convert it to AWD
Step 3 : ???
Step 4 : Profit

Dude, how young are you?

You're talking about re-engineering an existing platform.

You'll need the following:
  • Electric motors
  • New front hubs to support the electric motors (or just a front motor with a differential and shafts going to each front wheel)
  • Re-engineered front suspension to allow you to use the hubs for the electric motors
  • Re-engineered front of car to support the new suspension to allow you to use the hubs for the electric motors
  • How will you get power to the rear wheels? Existing differential and drive shaft or motors for each wheel?
  • Custom engineered mount(s) for the motor(s) powering the rear wheels.
  • Batteries
  • A place to put the batteries
  • Hardware and software to manage the batteries so you don't trash them
  • Hardware and software to manage the motors
  • A whole new powertrain control system
  • New custom software to keep all the components working together

This is reality, not Top Gear.

If you can't afford production electric AWD car, you probably can't afford to fabricobble one together from existing parts. Starting with an existing AWD platform would be smarter but I'd bet sex with your mom to donuts that it would still be awful without metric tons of cash.

If you can't afford a Tesla, you can't afford a conversion like that.

While there are electric converted cars(look up Zombie 222 electric Mustang) out there, they are very rare and take a lot of effort, time, and cash.

For a "proper" build with about 200-300 mile range, yes.

I just spent the last hour on that site figuring out how much it would cost to convert my '8 to EV and I stopped at $35k in basic drivetrain parts and batteries. That didn't include cooling, vacuum pump for brakes, charger, AC, or fabrication costs. Also, it was only RWD.

If OP wants AWD, well... yah, I'm going back up to $100k+.

Going AWD will be insane expensive, you would have to fab or convert existing AWD drive-train to an 8, not an easy task. Keeping it RWD with electric motor I think can be done for 30k or so, but then again, who wants a quiet 8, lol

Eh, it's about as realistic as Tesla Model Y, or the Roadster 2.
