Announcing Ronin Speedworks!

Hi guys,

Ronin Speedworks is pleased to announce an offering to the Rx-8 Owners!

A little about us, We are a 3 man team who started out as Lovers of the Rx7(2 of us own 2nd Gen Rx7's and the other owns a 3rd gen) and we all wanted to swap V8's into them. Deeply involved in the V8Rx7 community the three of us, and others along the journey, quickly became friends and We also offered the rx7 community a different product; A Big Brake Kit, Wiring Service, and Some Composite parts. So we LLC'd up and Started Ronin Speedworks. A real grass roots company. You can learn everything about us on our other forum here: http://www.norotors.com/index.php?board=32.0

We have added a smattering of other products since we started Ronin Speedworks in 2010. For Example, Awesomely designed Engine and Transmission Mounts for the FC, a Differential Mount that allows one to swap a Ford 8.8 into the the back of an Rx7. Really nice solid Camber links that you can swap out for added adjustability and maximum strength.

But we are really happy to announce our newest kit for the Rx-8 Crowd:

Rx-8 Ford 8.8 IRS - Complete Mount Kit w/ Axles

Why? The Ford 8.8 is a substantially stronger diff than the factory Mazda rear end. It's available in a huge range of gear ratios (3.08:1 up to 5.71:1) just looking at Summit Racing. We use a donor rear end from a 2007-2010 Ford Explorer. It's an aluminum case with dual front mounts and each front mount is massive. The support on the Explorer makes the Cobra 8.8 front mounts look tiny by comparison. Furthermore, the Explorer parts are both easier and cheaper to come by than the comparable Cobra pieces. Everything mounts from the topside which dramatically improves the load path AND you'll retain close to factory like exhaust clearances. Note: 2006 is a conversion year but so long as it has the dual front mounts that's what you want.

How much power will it hold? We don't really know since we haven't broken one yet.

Here's the 8.8 Cobra from a terminator Mustang (note the tiny front mounts)

You're not breaking these ears off. This is an explorer diff.

We hope you like our kit and we plan on coming out with new parts for the Rx8 in the future. Also let us know what you would like to see made!

i like seeing support for our cars but most of us like rotaries. i think the 8.8 ford rear is a solid choice. a member here has one in his 8 along with a 20b swap that makes gobs of power. i would rather a rew or 20b than a piston motor tho

lol 9k is always so positive. thank god hes not a reputable member here
