LS2 RX8 Ignition Upgrades!!
1 Attachment(s)
We are very proud to finally release a LS2 Ignition Upgrade for the RX-8!
It is very common that the OEM ignition coils on the RX-8 become weak and their performance degrade rather quickly over time and usually need replacement every 25,000 to 30,000 miles. They cause an array of issues over time such as misfires, decreased performance, and decreased engine life as a result. Now available is the Race Roots LS2 Ignition Upgrade package. It is very widely known that an upgraded ignition is a must have on any RX-8 and fits all RX-8s including series 2 RX-8s. These coils will provide extended coil life over OEM coils, increased spark, and the power delivery that is needed for the RX-8 to perform! These same coils are used on the Z06 Corvettes so you can imagine the amount of power these coils can deliver! For all NA applications this is plug and play with no tuning adjustments needed however, in FI applications adjustments will be needed to be made. Included in the contents is a complete assembly for a true plug and play system that can be installed in about an hour with basic hand tools. Comes complete with harness, coils, bracket, and spark plug wires for an easy installation with everything you need to fall in love with your RX8 again! We will be offering them in Red and black spark plug wires. Currently Priced at $450 shipped in the United States International Orders welcome, please PM or email us at sales@raceroots.com for more information. We ship USPS or Fedex at buyers expense. Attachment 240049 Orders can be placed on our website! http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...n-upgrade.html |

Attachment 240044 Please note the black box to the left where the harness connects to is not in the way since that is not in 99.99% of anyone's car. |
Also forgot to mention we will offer a 1 year warranty on the coils.

Curious, is that box a BC grounding/stabilizing kit? I have had this kit in my car now for about a week, and I definitely can feel the difference from my old ignition kit to these new ls2 coils. Im not 100% positive yet, but my gas mileage went from 16mpg to around 19/20 again! "wOoT" |
How long will this coils last long? I see the price is almost 500$ ( as those new BHR coils).
|
do you have a pic of the terminal ends into the coilpack?
|
for the price, this is a steal.

after installing these do you need to reset the computer fuel trims and crankshaft pedal bumps steps..

I did not, with my mazsport coils cruising on highway around 70 my AFR was mid 14's. if i went to 75 or higher my AFR's would drop to high 13's sometimes down to 12's then back up to 14's it fluctuated allot. After my install with the LS2 coils, i was able to do 70 through 85 mph and i think i saw 13'6 a couple times for a second or so then back to 14's. But since you asked that question, i don't see resetting your computer being a problem. |
would this work for jdm models not causing any cel codes?

Will it work in FI cars. What adjustments need to be made?

It will work for FI cars, and I'm no pro, but i think Dwell settings need to be changed for the tune. A tuner should know what to do. But you should be able to drive the car (i would stay out of boost) until the changes have been made. If someone can correct me if I'm wrong, |
