Wow, they've discontinued the red and beige interiors. So back to basics huh---four exterior colors and black interior.

 

OK, I have a 05 touring and it doesn't have the clear washer tank nor the delayed trunk release time and was built in mid 04.
It is sold as a 05 and all documents agree.
Make sure of the VIN break, it will affect alot of the minor BS differences.

No... not until the R3 model was introduced..in the RX7, the dual oil coolers were only on the R1 package.

 

We just bought a 2004 with red and black leather and it has the red door panels. BTW, can anybody tell me what year the stopped offering the red and black interior option? I'd like to try and find a later year model with this option.

 

all rx-8s with the"hi-power" configuration in the US came with 2 oil coolers from introduction on . the red black interior was dropped int he 2009 MY. Basically available in Series 1 but not Series 2

 

It would take effect on whatever date was stated in the legislation. Normally that's as of the first of the year but it doesn't have to be that way.

 

For 2009 they got rid of the rotor symbols under front and rear bumper. Much better looking without those.

 

04-05 automatics had only one oil cooler. Starting in 2006, ATs got a 2nd oil cooler (along with 6 speeds and the higher-HP 6-port engine).

 

Another change I think has not been mentioned was Mazda's reengineering of some failure-prone steering linkage part, starting with the '06 model year (or maybe it was mid- to late-05). The part could crack or break in 04-05, I recall.

 

Em. I got 04 Phantom blue. 6CD bose...

 

Does anyone know when they introduced CANBUS? I heard it was sometime in 2006.
However 31 March 2006 they increased the road tax for the RX8 in the UK...


I'm wondering if there is any overlap
