Is It Worth It? Pulling the trigger on '08 or not

So obviously this question will be subjective but my (possibly over) enthusiasm here is driving to ask for a third-party opinions so that I don't overlook something obvious. Basically I can't trust myself to make logical call here so I'm inviting you all to wade in on whether this particular car is worth the asking price.

tl;dr Would you you pay $11k for a RX-8 with all the options you want, no extras, and 33,000mi on it?

'08 CWP 6MT with aero flares and OEM non-MS spoiler. Cloth seats, no heaters. Moonroof. (Touring at best?)
33,000 Miles and original engine
No mods
Compression test from Apr from Mazda dealership showing values
Rotor 1: 7.3, 7.1, 7.5
Rotor 2: 7.5, 7.3, 7.4 No RPM given so I'm assuming 250. Coils, plugs, and wires replaced same time. (Planning to have compression test re-accomplished pre-purchase from different Mazda dealer)
Original Asking price: $14k. Told him I was walking away, so he dropped it to $11k. I have not negotiated any further from there. And I now know that they stil has a lien on it from when he bought it in '16. I'm well aware that that is still $2k over Edmund's estimated price from a dealer but most of the RX-8s locally are going for ~$8k-$9k at 75k miles and in decent shape here. Most of the $2-$6k RX-8s available are '04s, automatic, have clearly been abused, or have 120mi+ and original engines.

From the photos, it looks clean and well cared for, especially for the desert. CarFax shows a good title and 3 previous owners but maintenance records are lacking. Owner offering to provide receipts for oil changes since he's had it so not too concerned about recent oil changes. Rotor 1 may give me issues in a few thousand miles but nothing that should immediately affect use. ODBII scan was clean. Garage kept last 2-3 years. Unfortunately using synthetic oil currently. Hasn't been premixing last 2 years. No history from previous owners. I know there will be some

I've owned a RX-8 before so I know what I'm getting in to but, as previously stated, I'm concerned that I'm too excited about getting back in to a RX-8 and overlooking red flags. So am I dumb for being okay with paying $11k or being dumb for not pulling the trigger already?

Fire away.

11k for a low 7's compression test = 16k after you put the new motor in. Make your decisions based on that.

Well put. Thank you.

For a few months now I’ve been obsessed with the idea of buying a 2004+ LS430. I’m trying to find a white or gray one with perfect paint and a religious service record for the right price but it’s been rough... ideally I want one with less than 100k miles for <10 grand.

I think it comes down to how much the money means to you. If it was ten grand and you would jump at it, then how much does that one grand difference matter to your bank account? Or two grand, or whatever.
Offer him 9 and see where it goes. If it is just what you want, then make it happen either way.

this thread was from 2018

so it serves as a good lesson for all you noobs who think you’re not; always confirm the date before you go and make yourself look silly. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to do that in current threads.
