well, that is 8000 cdn, so probably only 6K US. i love that the car is worth 1/3 of what i paid only 3 years ago. it is so annoying. part of me just wants to hang onto it, rather than feel like i've basically given it away for nothing.

i may hang onto it for the winter, until i see what the rx-8 handles like in ontario winters. i drive up north alot, and want to see how it handles on snow, before i dump my car.

i've also not had much luck talking the dealer down on price from the msrp.

sell the car and then go for an RX. The RX comes with tires not well suited for winter snows and such and so you will need to go for Mud/Snow all season rated tires to keep it going. Its rear wheel drive but with traction control it should be ok. Not sure as I am planning on leaveing my RX at home when it snows.

ACV on a trade in is usually $2-3k back of wholesale book on any trade, BUy low, sell high, end result is you meet in the middle, buyer feels they got a good deal and dealer makes a 2-3 pounder on average. thats the real truth.

Don't forget kbb.com values are pure fantasy... for real values, take the kbb.com "trade-in" value and subtract about 10% to get to something approximating wholesale value.

Better yet, if you can get a dealer to quote you recent Manheim auction values, that is a real value you can use for comparison purposes.

I only paid 26200 for mine after ttt and everything....trade in value seems fair
