thoughts on trade in?

Well im thinking of trading in my 07 rx8 for an 05 manual rx8 same color same interior. From a dealer though. Should i make the trade? My car has a trade in value of 9,750 they want 8,500 for there vehicle (older but less mileage) i was gonna say to include a comp test before buying it. Anything else i should check for?

Why would you want to trade your newer one to an older one? Is your 07 auto? And yes...compression test is a must.

Yes an 07 auto. The 2005 has less miles. I don't have 18 inch rims or a sun roof that's the only advantage i see. As far as i see it still has two oil coolers and i plan on switching my midpipe to the manual as well.

it sounds like a Great Idea..
Alittle bit not very much, it saves gas compared to the automatic. Feels good and drives good manual. Sound of the engine is sexier. Your actually driving, instead of steering.
Even if its older, i dont think the models change any within those years.
But i do see alot of aftermarket parts and items available for those years.
For my years 2009 and up, it is pretty difficult grabbing some parts here and there

Well there are some changes and improvements after 06' so Ideally I would look for an 06' + but it's not a deal breaker if the 05' is clean and well maintained. But a compression test and service history detail are a must IMO.

I'd do it. Plus, the front of the original 8 is way better looking.

And you won't have the Jeep steering Wheel.

An 07' is no different than an 05' in the interior or exterior noobs. There were changes to the ECU's software, the Bose system, the crankcase ventilation setup, etc.
