im not sure about regular S1 prices, but i think it looks okay.
its an 06 which is good low miles looks loaded with everything no accidents obviously compression check before you sign anything and do the knock knock test to see if any unreported damage was done. a visual inspection is required as always. |
What are the compression scores of the engine? :)

Unique combination,
Nav and roof, but no leather or appearance package :scratchhe Like the gallery stated, compression test. |
So the thing here is I am in MN and this is in FL. As im sure a lot of you know, looking for a good RX8 and finding one near you would be much too easy, so I expanded my search. Anyway, I havent talked to them about compression yet, i tmay not even be available still, but if they say they can do a compression test, what scores am I looking for to come back? Which is good compression test results vs bad?

I am looking into a 2009 R3 and these are the results that came back.
One is the device they used, and the rest are results from each rotor. Let me know guys ASAP thanks!! |
Threads merged again. I asked you to please stick to one thread.
This is no longer a request. That's a great engine, the starter is a tad on the weak side but no cause for concern. |
Sorry I must have missed that post. Wont happen again.

What do you guys think of an R3 with these compression results, it has 47608 on it. It has the Recaro seats and all the R3 upgrades. Whats a good price for this? They are asking 19,998. Is this a good price or how low do you think this Mazda dealership would go?
|
Unsure of any Canadian market influence to know if that price is too high or not. If that was in the US with USD, then I'd say it's too high by $2k-4k
|
Its in the US
|
What should I ask for that is reasonable. You seem to know a lot more than I do
here are the specs if you care. http://www.cjwilsonmazda.com/web/use...de-IL/7152449/ |
Oh, whoops, I saw Ontario CA and though Ontario Canada, forgetting that it's also a city in California.
Yes, it's priced too high. It's a good engine, so I could make a justification for it, but you should be able to come down. For reference, when I got my 2005 in 2007 (in-service was in 2006), it had 8,600 miles on it, started at a similar MSRP, and I paid $1k less. This is 3 years and 27k older by comparison of relative metrics. |
So maybe 18000 is a solid that they might go for?
|
If you already have your financing in order (or cash) offer them 9k out the door and let the negotiations begin. Some people don't like to haggle, but I live for it. Even if you don't have your financing in order and they are doing it for you, still make the offer. The worse they are going to do is say no and come back with a higher price. 9k out the door means TT&L included in the 9k.
|
New information. It has an installed Rx8 Racing Beat REvi Intake on it.
|
When you say 9k you mean 10k less than what they want? :)
|
Dude, I was looking at the first link lol. No don't do that they will laugh you out of the dealership. Offer them 16k on that one. As a general rule I like to low ball about 4k under asking price and work from there. They will reject your first offer as sure as the sun rises every morning, and you can kind of gauge where they want to be on the car. Depending on what they have in it, you could be pleasantly surprised. The car is valued at 18500. so don't pay more than that. At the very least I would try to get 18 out the door.

is this R3 at a mazda dealership?? If it is ask if there will be any problems with the warranty considering it has a aftermarket intake, if they say no then get it in writing just in case
|
It legally can't be a problem with the warranty.
That question is more relevant to his local dealer that might be servicing it, and only then just as a mutual agreement perspective. Legally the dealer can't refuse warranty based on the intake without proving the intake was a cause for a part failure, and certainly can't just void it because of the intake. |

Correct, dealers are made up of people too, with all of the resulting misunderstandings, miscommunications, ignorance, and occasionally intelligence.
Take anything you see and hear with a very big grain of salt. Especially people who are assumed to know what they are talking about just because they belong to a specific organization. |
