MT, I still can't believe they even offer this car in AT. It should be like the Speed 6-MT only. Definetly my second car if they're still making it down the road. My parents had to convince me to go with the 8 over the Speed 6. My mom threatened not to cosign if I went with the Speed 6, but she never voiced one bit of concern over the 8, mabye because she owned an RX-7 back in the day. But I digress, you're buying a sports car-get the MT.

S2000 is offered in only a 6 speed.

Old AT vs MT... go MT. The RX-8 is quick, but not fast... even as MT.

New AT vs MT... test drive them both and decide for yourself. Some people consider clutching and shifting in traffic to be uncomfortable and a pain in the ass. Some people don't really notice it at all. Different strokes for different folks.

^ It is always a question of your commute. Personally, I believe this: If your commute is slow/shitty enough that an MT is a pain in the ass - don't buy this car. You will hate the MPG if you don't really get the enjoyment (ie performance) to offset it.

guys I just pulled the trigger and bought a 06 MT Velo red GTpkg 2 tone leather. for $26995 after all applicable rebates incentives.

I am ok with the shifting as long as the car is moving, its getting it to move from a stop that I am having trouble with.

All most cried when I got the car home since I felt I was hurting the car and breaking it. Bt i did get better after a while and stopped stalling.

Question MT involves two plates correct? I know the clutch can be replaced if a new one, bt what abt the other one??
ALso what is a Flywheel?

WOOT!! Don't worry about the clutch. You will get better quickly - especially since you have no choice. A few trips w/stalling & bucking are not going to break it. It may bump your need for replacement up a few thousand miles, but it's not like you will have to replace it at 20k b/c you're a virgin. lol

The other Q's - I'll leave to more knowledgeable members.
