Rebates/Incentives on remaining 2006s?

Anybody talked to a dealer lately about 2006s?

I've read that the $4000 rebate expired on April 1st. Is there a new incentive out to get rid of the 2006 models? I have not been able to find anything from Mazda or Edmunds. However I have noticed that the listed price on some 2006s have gone up at some dealers since...

They seem to be still honoring the rebates. Im trying to buy my wife an 8 for her college graduation and have been in talks with a dealer in Dallas. It started up around 35K for an 06 and after rebates and invoice price its down to 27800. I dont want navigation and thats where they wont budge, I want them to drop it from the price since the car has been sitting in inventory since last June its a 2k option that i dont need or want, but they wont.

I've posted it here a few times already - but a no-haggle dealership here in Minneapolis (Polar Mazda) has a new 2006 Galaxy Grey GT (w/o Nav) for $24,950. The Autobarn of Evanston, IL is selling new '06 Shinkas for $25-$26k. IMO, that's approx what you should pay for an '06 GT or Shinka. Any more than that and you're getting ripped off.

The $4000 rebate ($1000 for financing with MAC and $3000 off sticker) runs through the end of May, I believe.

Anyone else see prices for '06 Touring or Sport models?

"new '06 Shinkas for $25-$26k"
Thats consistent with what I saw in Milwaukee/ Chicago in Feb. I couldn't get anyone
to go lower. They said they would just sit on the cars until the weather warmed up (like today). Coincidentally, $26k for a Shinka is invoice minus rebates so, assuming the dealer got the cars for below invoice, they're still making a few bucks.

Of course they're making money, its a business, BUSINESS

just how much.

I wouldnt pay too much for a 06, its almost end of April and the 08 model might start in a few months.
