Purchasing an Rx8

I'm buying a car in a few months (I know a few months is awhile) and I want an Rx8. Is there anything specific I should look for on a used Rx8 like problems that can't be noticed with out really looking?

Yup, certainly, plenty of things to look for and learn about this car. But, since I've already typed it all up once, I'm just going to point you there instead of re-typing everything again.

First things first...compression test the engine. A low or failed compression means it needs a new engine.

I don't think a dealership would just let me compression test the engine right there.

Let you?
Tell them to do it or let you take it to some one who will or you don't buy it.

It's that simple.

I would walk away if they gave you any challenge about doing a compression test.

Second question is there a year I should look for? I'm trying to stay around $12,000. Looking at an 05 and an 06.

Try to go for an 06 if you can just for warranty reasons. With an 06 you should still have a little over two years left on the engine core warranty.

Sorry for the extremely noob question and I know these questions get annoying but what specifically is the warranty?

The compression question is answered in the thread I linked.

The warranty question is also answered in the thread I linked.
