On My Way....

On my way to test drive/check out 2004 Lightning Yellow... 13,995, but I'm confident I can talk them down. Im gonna make sure the engine was replaced, and if not use that against them to get the price dropped. Also I'm gonna make sure "recall 4206f" has been done and that the original owner took good care of it (check oil every other fillup, etc.) Any thing you guys wanna tell me before I go?

How many miles are on it? That is pretty expensive for an 04.

Bigbacon 01-07-2010 11:35 AM

yea....14k for an 04?

WAY too much....even if it has really low miles..

I would go no higher than 11,000 for a GT. if the trim is lower than GT than even less that 11,000. 11,000 is the BB value for a 04 GT with 10,000 miles and in good condition....

if it has more than 50,000 miles you better be asking them for 10,000 or less.

Brockb24 01-07-2010 11:42 AM

Alright, yeah the miles weren't listed on the internet, but i found another one at a different dealership for 10,995. I'm gonna try to talk them down. We'll see how it goes, I'll get back to you guys.

so what happened?

Brockb24 01-07-2010 05:35 PM

Well we got there, and apparently the guy trying to sell it to me was a rotary guy to..said he was on his third souped up rx7. Long story short, it looked a hundred times better in person, and after driving it there is nothing on this earth that is going to stop me from getting one. I absolutely LOVE this car. It took a little getting used to on the clutch ( is it just me or is it unusually tight
? ) but i got used to it and it was an EXTREMELY smooth ride. I dont know if I'll buy that exact one, but I WILL have an Rx-8.

I didn't buy it yet because i dont have the money just yet, but my parents might help me out a little bit if i make decent grades.

EDIT: plus, i think i can find a better deal.

Brockb24 01-07-2010 05:59 PM

Cf05 01-07-2010 06:05 PM

I would honestly tell the guy that you are really interested in taking the car off his hands but your only going to give 10k for it. Unless the car has mods, the guy is crazy selling it at 14.

I bet if you walked up to him with a hand whole of cash, he'd let it go.

Pico 01-08-2010 08:19 AM

Most people are willing to work with a buyer with cash in hand.

Money talks-- BS walks
This saying is very true

Brockb24 01-08-2010 11:06 AM

That sounds like a pretty damn good idea. He'd be crazy not to sell it with 100 hundred dollar bills in his face...haha. Im gonna go for it, in March. Thats when i can do it. I guess I'll just sit tight till then...
