Insurance Company ? Which one ?
Esurance
AllState StateFarm AARP Nationwide Progressive Travelers Which one you guys have/had ? How was it? for how long? is the rate good? how is the repair process (if applicable) Nationwide its the cheapest for me, but I also read stories about them "not paying" for OE parts, even for critical safety stuff like Airbag spacer. Of course I heard good stories about Nationwide too. Allstate and StateFarm have more positive feedbacks than Nationwide. USAA and AAA are on the top, but I dont know anybody thats in the service. For AAA I dont think they offer insurance in the NYC area. Anybody got any info for the above listed companies ? Thx :) |
I’ve had The Hartford for home, cars, and umbrella, everything for about 5 years now. I’m surprised you haven’t included them on your list. They’ve been good with my claims for cracked windshield and a totaled car. They don’t really have the lowest rates, but the discounts (multi-line, safe driving etc.) factored in, make them good. The claim service is very reliable though and that’s what really counts.

I have USAA. Excellent!
I pay only about 350 every six month for insurance and have had them about a year and a half. Have not had to file a claim or anything so I dont know about that |
Progressive for about 2 years. One not at fault claim which went pretty smoothly. They cut me a check for $4500 and I spent $1400 fixing it myself :D:
My g/f also has Progressive and she's in the process of a claim for hail damage which totaled the car out. It's going pretty well for her too. They have pretty good customer service. They're really easy to get a hold of and pretty diligent about resolving claims quickly. Edit: Plus they have after market part insurance and declared value insurance. I have my car insured for 30k because of all the extra goodies i have and my premium went up ~$100. I'd rather get cut a check for 30k than 12k (or whatever this thing's pathetic resale value is). |
Hey Guys,
I had AAA, switched to progressive saved me $150 every 12 months. Same coverage and everything else. Link below. Bought insurance online too. http://www.insurance.com/partner-landing.aspx Check it out. Actually I called 21st century couldn't beat my AAA insurance. Then I said what the hell try out the link. To my surprise I saved 150.00. So I thought I post it here..maybe you boys can save some money too. Let me know if helped you. thanks! |
been with State Farm for three years now. cheapest rates that i've found and they fixed my 8 for free when someone struck it multiple times in one sitting with a shopping cart. we have our house and our cars with them. rates here in ohio depend on age, over or under 25, married, home owner, driving record, count of residence etc.

Allstate had 1 not at fault accident cost em$ 10,000 to fix went from 550 a month to 345 now under my pops
|
we use USAA, we pay about 80$ a month for two cars we also have renters insurance. they r great:)
|
If you can get USAA then that would be the best one.
If not and you don't have any moving violations for the past 3 years, Amica is the best, although they cost a bit more. Beyond that I would stay away from Farmers and State Farm. I've used Progressive before but never had to make a claim. |
Dont take Allstate, they screwed me over.
Plus they use all recycled parts, nothing new or OEM. |
This is my ultimate car to get as I am shopping for a car right now. The problem is insurance is going to be $700 every 6 month. Is that normal or can I get it lower?

USAA, $540 for 6 months.
I had Esurance for a bit previously. They were okay. I've since filed 2 claims through them that went alright. I jumped ship after I moved, later updating my location info to see my rate increase a ridiculous amount. |
problem is usaa is for veterans or people in the army.

EDIT: From the source regarding who is eligible: https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_utils/...s_usaa_for_you I stand slightly corrected; IF your parents are/were USAA members, then you are eligible: "Eligible parents are active military, former military, widows, widowers, former spouses, former USAA members, and individuals whose parents are or were USAA members." |

If you are with the AARP, their auto insurance tie up with The Hartford is good. My uncle saved around $250+ when he switched this year. AARP’s other tie-ups help you get discounts on travel, restaurants and much more. Worth exploring!

i had allstate but now i have usaa and its way cheaper
