Inform Me!
I am looking to purchase a used Rx 8. I know I will buy a 2005 to 2009 Grand Touring model. I will be keeping the price below $20,000.
Now, I am quiet new to how to take care of the engines but I have read up on them some and understand some things that I need to do to keep it in good shape. I know that it is essential to keep them in pristine condition so I would be delighted if you could add in something that I may not know! Or even some things to be careful of. Anyway, what things should I look for when purchasing the Rx8. What things should I be weary of? I may buy from a private seller or a dealer. Not sure yet. One thing that I am worried about is the previous owners not taking care of the engine. I don't want to buy the car then turn around and fix it because they treated it like crap :/ This is why I'm leaning on getting it at the dealerships. So, How do I know they treated it the right way or not? Maybe maintenance records? But most people don't keep those... Thanks :) |
Search for 8's that have maintenance records. Those will help you with any warranty issues you may/(most likely)will have to deal with.
Have the engine compression checked. Read the stickies in the forums to learn more about the maintenance that this engine requires. Good luck |
