good deal? talk it down?

Hey guys, in my local area I found a 04 Rx8 6spd, with 75, XXX miles on it. but the motor has already been replaced by mazda at 65, xxxx miles.
the guy is asking about $11,000 for it. Upon closer look, the plastic around the back bumper has some damage on it and along the bottom of the body there are knicks and what not.

do you guys think the price is fair? or should it be talked down? reason im asking is, if its not even at 80K miles and the motor has already been replaced, wont that mean other thigns will need to be looked at very soon?
figure maybe offer $9,500-10?

advice?
thanks.

i'd go lower if you can.

Some of the early cars lost engines in under 20k miles so it isn't a sign of terrible abuse of this car. Always good to go lower.

I hate low balling because i like to seem respectful, but for what its worth do you guys think that $9500-10,000 is a fair deal?

i checked kbb and other sites for the average, and took into consideration the minor body damage (back bumper and what not)

It's just a minor business deal. If what you're willing to pay matches what the seller is willing to accept, then the deal goes through. Only way to find out what the seller is willing to accept is to offer a lower amount than what he originally asked for. This isn't disrespectful, just common sense communication. Of course, be polite, and apologize in advance if you like, etc, but it's not really disrespectful to ask if someone will accept x-amount. They may act offended or actually be offended, but this isn't Shakespeare.

Hey guys, well I looked at the car again and the sign actually says the car has 92k miles with the motor being replaced by mazda at 65k miles.

now im sure this is beating a dead horse but what exactly are the lines in which mazda will cover and warranty the motor on the 8 year 100k mile warranty?

if they replaced the motor at 65k miles and the car itself has 92k miles.
does the warranty apply to the entire body miles or on the physical motors miles? if they replaced the motor would the warranty apply to the new motors miles?

lol im sure this is brought up alot, sorry guys. just wondering, In college so tryin to get all my facts straight and milk the warranty for what its worth if i can get a RX8 soon.
