Help on buying

Im looking to buy a 04 Mazda rx8 with 18k miles on it. it is a 6 speed manual and is priced at 11,900. Which I think is way too much. im asking them why the two owners got rid of it so fast. Any ideas on how much the car is worth?

Have you checked the used car buyer guides; Kelly, NADA, etc.?

2 prior owners and with a very low mileage is surprising. Maybe the engine has been change a couple of times. Anyway, check the Carfax and see the history of the car. I'm not gonna guess on the price but have a compression test on the engine before you decide to buy it, good luck!

Hi,

I'm looking to buy an '06 RX8 (231) 66k miles for £2,300 but i need to know what to look out for when i have a look at it, the guy has just bought new front and rear brake disks, new rear brake pads, new tyres, new spark plugs and coil pack. had a new battery 4 months ago. Its been serviced by mazda until 2012 then by a local mazda specialist.

I know about the compression issues and flooded engines, but would it be a safe buy or is it too good to be true?
He has stated his wife only ever used it for the school run and has 2 previous owners.

A buddy of mine recently got into a car accident with his 1995 Acura Integra and now he is looking to purchase a 04 Mazda RX8 but he is weary because he had one before and the engine crap out on him. Any pointers to watch out for?

I had a shoe fall off and my buddy washed his lawn with a hose and now I'm looking at getting another rx8 but I'm worried about the compression what should i look out for if the salesman has a blue tie on and is over 6 feet does this mean the car was flooded but it was only driven to the moon and back in the summer never in the winter and the man in the mazda white tech shirt said it had new coils and giggle shaft replaced and was never smoked in but there is no spare tire is this normal?
