Buying an RX8 this weekend

Hey guys. So I'm finally buying an RX8 this weekend. I've been wanting one for some time and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get a loan towards one, so I'm checking out my options. I just wanted to run some things by you more experienced folk and get some opinions.

As of right now the one I'm leaning towards the most is a 2007 RX-8 Touring model for 11,995. I'm going to see if I can keep it under 12,500 out the door so we'll see how that works. Anyway, it's the stormy blue mica color and the odometer is sitting at 58,779. There is not so much as a scratch on it that I can find and the dealer says it is in great mechanical condition. Does this sound like a decent deal? I'm not super savvy but from what I can tell it appears bone stock with the Touring package.

My current second choice is a red 2004 GT with the black/red interior with 59,000 miles on it. This one is up for 10,500. I haven't seen this one in person but it seems like a good deal as well from what I can see.

Also, when I to look at it is there anything I should look for in particular or any specific questions I should ask? Like is there something that tends to go wrong with these cars or are the certain areas of concern I should check for wear and tear? Any info on that would be appreciated.

There are a couple other options nearby, I found a couple 2004s that looked decent and a 2006 I liked. Is there a recommended year if they are similar in mileage/price? I'm stoked to finally pick one of these babies up but I want to make sure I don't jump the gun and end up getting a shitty deal.

Thanks ahead of time for the opinions and feedback!

Check out the New Owners thread in my sig. There is plenty you need to know about, plenty of things to look for, compression test to request, etc... Read at least the first 9 posts.

Not sure where you are located, but have you seen this car:

You will not find one nicer. Even if you have to drop a grand to ship/travel to pick it up, it would still be a score IMO.

I'll say get the newer one and get the 07. Get a compression test before you commit to buy. Good luck and update us on whatever you decide to get.
