Advice on purchasing please

Hi guys,

I have read up about all the pro's cons, how to maintain the rx8 etc.
After reading and weighing up all opinions I have decided the best model for me would be a 1.3 192 2006 model with around 40k.
However it is my second car (Been driving for about 7 months in a mini cooper)
I just wanted to generally ask advice on my situation as everyone and anyone on here can tell me something that could be of use. I was thinking of buying one at auction as I am a commercial vehicles dealer by trade. I was looking at an ex lease rx8 with 40,000 miles on it (2006) in grey with black leather etc. It also says it was serviced a thousand miles ago. Just wanted to have an opinion as to whether it is worth just paying the extra money to buy it from a dealer or from a private person as I will not know if the coil packs etc have been changed if I buy from auction. Or is it a pretty safe gamble as it is a 2006 with low miles. Any advice greatly appreciated. Also does anybody know the warranty length of rx8's in the UK. Rung a few mazda dealerships but they are not helpful at all!

Thanks

Here is what you need before buying a rx8:

Detailed maintenance records (oil changes, ignition, recalls, tsbs, etc). Further, before buying it would be a good idea to do a compression test (rotaries need a specific type of compression tester). I would also take a look at the condition of the cat.

Without records and compression test stay away.

You say you have done your research but from your questions it seems like you have not. Start here https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...t-here-202454/ and read the whole thing, if you already read it then read it again because you missed some things.
