06 shinka with 111k miles to buy or not?

Okay guys/gals im looking at this clean rx8. I called mazda and they verified the engine was replaced march 2012. At 88k miles. Its an Auto 6 speed. I got the dealer down to 8800 for it. I asked mazda about shinka that was on it and it did come with the shinka package from the dealer. I dog the shit out of it today and seems run damn good. And after running it hard and turned it off and started it back up without a problem. Cold start seem fine and not missing that I could tell. Shifting seem good. Im a field tech for komatsu so not new to mechanics at all. Had evox before, sky redline, audi TT. Did my own open source tuning so I know a little bit. But im new to RX8... Not worried about small stuff could go wrong just major. Eletrical transmission etc. I know about flooding them premix etc. Question is would you guys buy it? Thanks everyone!

because its auto I would not. But if you are looking specifically for an auto it doesn't sound too bad of a deal. For a little bit more you could find a much lower mile 8 but it probably would not be a shinka.

Two words,

Compression Test.

Do not buy that, (or any other RX8 for that matter) without one. If the engine is healthy at that milage, its not likely to go bang tomorrow.

Also forgot add its got cat-back exhaust. And some good looking rims. If compression was low would it make it hard to start cold/hot. I seen people had early engine failures but less than year old?

If everything works out good, then i think it is a good deal.

It's hard to say exactly - it depends on where the section of the engine with the bad compression is when you attempt to start it, among other variables. The point is, hard, objective numbers from a compression test are more important than mileage.
