$1,500 Below Invoice 2004 - Good/Bad/Ugly?

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've decided to join the RX-8 cult and have been shopping around for one for about 2 weeks now. Best deal I've been given is $1,500 below invoice on an '04 Velocity Red MT Base Model. Spoke with the salesman over the phone and he says this is an "end of the month" special offer so I need to come in tomorrow or it's no deal. Smells like the usual pressure tactic to me. He also said that the vehicle may or may not have Lojack installed but if it is that's an additional $595 but he claims that I would save 8-12% on insurance with it installed. What do you guys think about this deal?

Thank you in advance. :D

$1,500 below invoice is a very good price. The longer you wait, the bigger the discount you can probably negotiate, but also the more limited your choices in terms of package, options, and color.

I don't think the dealer is totally lying. End of the month is when dealerships try to meet their sales quota. Also, Mazda is offering $1,000 cash to dealer until September 30 on RX-8's:

The cash to dealer probably isn't going anywhere, though.
