WA Looking for a project car

Hey guys, I'm a previous RX-8 owner who has spent the last few years with a 3000GT VR-4. But the RX has always felt like "the one that got away," so I'm interested in returning to the platform. To get my hands dirty, I'd love to find a 2005 or greater (manual only) that's in good condition except for a blown motor. I want to do the rebuild myself to really learn the rotary (when I previously owned one, it was brand new and I kept it 100% stock).

I'm in the Seattle area, and I'd be willing to negotiate a trade of my VR-4 for said RX-8. Let me know if you have one you need to get off your hands and we'll talk.

Thanks!
~ Alex

Sorry for not closing out this thread sooner, but I've owned an RX-8 for over a year now. Thanks!

Are you still looking? I just spent 5000 bucks on one only to have it fail 25 miles into it. I know it's a year too old, but I have a 2004 with a blown motor.

Nope, I've had a '10 R3 for about three years now and have had zero problems, even with multiple track days

Is a 2004 out of the question?
