Torque Steerers Auto-X Event today?

Did anyone go today to the event in Everett? I was there from about 10:30 to 1:00 - just as a spectator though. It was fun to see how all the different cars do (and drivers of course!). The guy called "Fast Mike" is pretty fast, and I love his Solstice too. :) I think it's also driven by Shelbie, who some of you have mentioned before. She's very good too, as well as Kristi who drives the black one.

I didn't see any 8's though - although there might have been some in the afternoon...

BTW - I signed up for one of the clinics in the Evolution Driving School in Packwood in August. If you've gone through any of their stuff, let me know what you think. I did a search and it seems like most ppl have had a good experience.

I'll be at the Torque Steerers event in the morning. I guess I better get some sleep. :)

Hey, they don't start til 9 or so... you can sleep in... ;)

FYI - they seemed to have some problems with the clocks on the course this morning...

I was there Saturday afternoon, and I plan to be there on Sunday afternoon. It's a good, difficult course.

My son and I did parts 1 and 2 of the Evolution school last year; we'll probably do some this year, too, but we haven't decided which ones we want to do. It's a very, very good school, but it's very intense, and you can't possibly absorb all the stuff they toss your way. But is helped both of us turn the corner, so that we're both competitive in class, and my son is close to PAX level now.

Thanks for the info on Evolution. Maybe I'll see you there, although I'm only going to be there on Aug 8.

Good luck you guys!

I went to the saturday event just to watch ( no sitter ) I wish I could have driven.
I've know "Fast Mike" going on two decades now and he is fast.
As far as I know he has won 5 straight events now running in PAX which is unheard of. He also is a rotary nut which is always a plus in the circles we run in.

I hope the school is more than you hope or dream for.

LOL... Interesting about Fast Mike - I had not heard.

Thanks RXFamily!

I made it to the Sunday morning event with my new alignment settings. The car was much better than the previous event. In the previous event I had tons of understeer. In the Sunday event the car was much more neutral. I was able to get the back end to move quite a bit. A little too much at times... I almost spun on my second run and barely saved it. I think the better handling was a result of combination of things: Proper alignment, increased front tire pressure to reduce rollover, and fewer decreasing radiuses on the autocross course. Anyway, it all worked out pretty good. I ended up first out of 18 novices in the AM session, and my time was the fastest of all 24 novices that ran on Sunday. It was much more fun than the previous time. I thought I was doing decent until I looked at where my time would fall if I ran in ST-S. :) I think I'm able to run in novice one more time for WWSCC though... I guess it will have to be ST-S after that, since I don't want to go for swapping out wheels and tires for the events.

Woohoo, congrats Skinless! :ylsuper:

Anybody going to the Autocross in Everett this weekend? The schedule page shows that it's on Sunday the 16th, but the info page shows Saturday the 15th. Either way, I think I'm going to run in the AM session.

Don't think I can make it, unfortunately.

BTW, CodingParadox, who heretofore has autocrossed his ancient Toyota Celica All-Trac, got tired of having his car broken all the time, and bought an RX-8. He's an excellent autocrosser, and, as soon as the RX-8 is properly broken in and he gets wheels/tires for it, he'll be out there on Sundays.

Darn, I wasn't paying attention... can't make it this weekend. Have a great time!
