Need Portland Area Info

Who do you guys use/trust for service and audio work? Also any local stores for wheels (thinking axis penta or matrix)?

mcstin 04-14-2006 10:50 AM

For audio I went to Avincar in NW Portland, they are easy to find on the web.

mcstin,

Thanks for the info. I will look them up soon.

Anyone else have info for service? Do you use the dealerships? If so which one and how would you rate them? Anyone deal with Herzog Meier?

I have bought two cars from Herzog and have used them for service too, over priced obviously but their customer service isn't bad. Not open on weekends however. Never had any serious work done by them but then with a new car you don't require it. If I was out of warranty and had real engine problems I'd probably look for a rotary specialist rather than a stealership....

Surprisingly Ron Tonkin Mazda in NE Portland has good service. They've fixed things like my break squeal the first time with no following problems. Always very friendly as well.

Quick follow up on Herzog. Had to have some repairs done that were thankfully in warranty, I had a rattle on my steering column cowling and also my sun visor came off whilst driving at 70 on I-5 :Freak_ani

Herzog ordered the parts in a timely fashion and carried out the above which surprisingly caused my cd changer, autolock, interior lighting, center console display and trunk open operation to go out..all because there is a fuse on the visor for the mirror light....oh and it caused the check engine light to come on (low voltage ecm) plus greased my squeeky clutch pedal in less than a day.

Very pleased :)

are you the titanium that was there a few weeks ago? car sat there all day? lowered nice rims etc?

i Have used Herzog and Premeir. I dont have a problem with either (altho bunnygirtls oarent ahd an issue with Premier's sales staff) but am more comfortable with Herzogg. I wish Tom Herzog was still running the service but he is now running their http://www.hm-motorsports.com/en_US/ motorsports shop. havent checked to see if theyd do the rx-8 services there.

would prefer to have a QMD service center in the area

Does the HM in HM Motorsports stand for Herzog Meier?

pdxhak 05-24-2006 03:08 PM

FWIW they fixed my driver side sun visor as well. It came off when I was driving on I-5.

Now I'm having them look into the front air dam coming loose. It appears the double sided tape or epoxy is losing its adhesiveness. Anyone know of problems like this?

zoom44 05-24-2006 07:14 PM

yeah HM = Herzog Meier- its a division of the company in the red building just a half block down the street

voodooray 05-25-2006 12:51 PM

that wasn't me, mine's a Galaxy Gray Mica GT..standard 18's and the appearance package.

Surprised they only use some sort of adhesive on the air dam, I'll be keeping a close eye on mine but so far it looks attached well.

HM have done a few things for me, fitted 6 x cd and added the appearance package but when it came to enabling the autolock feature it went over to Mazda service across the road.
