BunnyGirl 01-27-2007 09:44 PM

What are the odds of there being at bathroom at the meet up place? I know I'm going to be having bladder "issues" if there isn't!!! It's a three-hour drive for me to get there, and I'm spending the night at Robbie's so I can make sure he actually gets up and gets ready to go and he has a broken water main, so he has not had any water at his house since last Friday. I don't know who is supposed to be fixing it, but it hasn't been done yet. Knowing me, I'll be as lucky as the last time and find a gas station with no bathroom!!!

I suppose if all else fails I can pee in a bush!

It's called a rest stop...there's several on the way there :p: rofl!

I believe there are restrooms at Fort Dent, but I'm not sure if they're unlocked during the winter.

Kristopher, I was looking at your site and the route -- I'm confused.... Are we stopping for lunch at Juanita Beach Park (like at Spud's) and then eating again at Alderwood?

Yikes, you're right about getting the route on one map... I just plotted it on a full size map of Seattle and only made it to Bothell, but now I need another map with No. Seattle. It's not that difficult now that I see the big picture.

BunnyGirl 01-27-2007 11:52 PM

I was wondering the same thing about the food. I certainly don't need to eat that much!!!! :) I was wondering approximately how many hours this drive is going to be. My mom is supposed to be making my birthday dinner for me for when Robbie and I get home, but I couldn't give her a good time frame as to when that would be, since I don't know how long the route is, or have any guesstimates as to what time we are meeting up at what spots. I just know it takes a little over 3 hours from my house to Fort Dent (or a little over 2-1/2 from Robbie's house). Bunny confused. :crying:

05TiGr8Lady 01-28-2007 12:14 AM

From what I can tell on the TripTik directions --- The total time is roughly about 3 hours, plus time for lunch- so say about 4 hours.

If we leave right at 10am :hahano: , that puts us at a lunch break around noon-ish, eat however long that takes (usually at least an hour), then it's another hour or so to get to Alderwood Mall.

Kristopher, Is that what you had in mind ^^^ ?

Bunny, If you guys needed to break away from the group, we're not going to be that far away from freeways - so we could get you on the road earlier.

kristopher_d 01-28-2007 12:53 AM

Sorry, about that. I saw the same things as I was getting my materials ready today. I only plan on eating once, but there's some good roads in the second part, so I figured we'd at least finish the route. The plan was to leave at 11. I doubt it'll actually take the 1hr 45min TripTik expects for the first half. It might, but I doubt it. I plan on behaving, but not that well.

So, I guess in addition to a large enough paved parking lot, I need to add rest rooms to my list of meeting place requirements. :D I learn something every time we do this.

BunnyGirl 01-28-2007 01:46 AM

Thanks to Bunny and her "very efficient kidneys," huh? LOL!

I don't know that I necessarily need to break away from the group early. I was just wondering the approximate timeframe. I just know my mom needs a minimum of 2-1/2 hours to prepare and cook my dinner I wanted. I'm not entirely sure about Robbie, though. He just sold his house on Tuesday, but he still has stuff that needed to be finished up on it before the new people move in. Plus, his water main broke last weekend and they still don't have the water operational and all the plumbing repaired (still working on it). Tonight after he got off work he was busily working on a bunch of stuff so he could still go with me tomorrow (yay!). He was painting and attaching bathroom doors. I would have been much happier about that one, had the bathrooms had doors on them when he was still going to be living there. Someone, I don't think their "code" is very helpful. If you go in there you are supposed to announce "Girl/boy in the bathroom!" When I had no electricity I stayed at his house because he did. I was highly doubting my announcement of "Girl in the shower!" would keep a guy away.

I'll just have to check my timeline. I'm sure I will have enough time to finish up the drive. Once I'm on I-5 it's an easy shot home.

jisoo26 01-28-2007 04:32 AM

Ok looks like I'm out again. I have full blown stomach flu. Omg I'll take any other cold-related disease, just not stomach flu. I can't keep anything down. :puke:

Someone shoot me.

05TiGr8Lady 01-28-2007 09:27 AM

Oh man, that's too bad. I was looking forward to meeting you. :( That's what you get for talking about projectile diarrhea :hahano: Take care of yourself and see you next time :fingersx:

kristopher_d 01-28-2007 09:44 AM

Sorry to hear it. Next time family wants disrupt your plans you'll be honest and tell them you have more "important" things to do. ;) We always seem to get what we ask for.

jisoo26 01-28-2007 02:50 PM

omg the weather's so nice outside. That makes this 1000% more miserable :wallbash:

matt5462 01-28-2007 08:39 PM

Thanks Guys/Gals

I had a great time. Chris thanks for all the hard work you put into these. This was my first and def not my last.

Proxi, NICE pics!! Thanks! :ylsuper:

I have some too, but a lot of them are the same as yours and yours are way better :) If I find any unusual ones that no one else does, I'll add them later.

05TiGr8Lady 01-29-2007 07:17 AM

BunnyGirl, You must have grabbed lunch at Spud's and taken off for your trip back home? I hope you made it back safe and sound! And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

jisoo26 01-29-2007 12:35 PM

That looked like so much fun :( I have the worst luck in the world. Bah. I'm stuck at home today drinking gatorade and hoping to move onto chicken soup tonight :p:

Robbie and I had lunch and then left. My arm was not holding up too well, so I figured it was best to head home while it was still functioning (it's pretty much useless today). I also think our driving was scaring Robbie. He's all "why is everyone speeding?" and other various stuff like that, kept telling me to slow down. LOL! While driving I noticed he had clenched fists in his lap. I have expected to find a wet seat when he got out. He liked the drive around Mercer Island, though. He used to live there when he was younger.

kristopher_d 01-29-2007 06:02 PM

In other words, he's not going to do well when you find a road that requires you to hang the tail end out just to get around the corners. :) Was it the in-the-city speeding, or the speeding in general?

TheBri 01-29-2007 06:12 PM

Great pictures! Now I'm even more bummed that I couldn't make it. :(

Next month for sure! I fully plan on cancelling anything that conflicts with the drive.

shaunv74 01-29-2007 06:40 PM

Seriously...with that splitter you would have owned everyone in the corners!:)

The group photo is here http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...hoto.php?lid=1 Remember, we're re-running our November route since the rain kept most folks home. It's already up a the-winding-road, but I'll get a thread going tonight.
