I've seen lots of 8's in Beaverton/Portland/Hillsboro

Summer time brings out the 8's. Anyone in the area?

There are few that "live" in my neighborhood, Sexton Mountain/Cooper Mountain and I've seen plenty on the road. Exchanged a wave with a Shinka and ignored by a red auto w/MS kit. I notice a black base model black frequently drives by my house. Last night I parked next Stormy Blue (I think) in Tansaborn.

Anyone here?

mcstin 06-02-2007 10:13 AM

I am a block or two away from you. I have the 05 WWP GT. Any interest in a Zaino order? I am getting low and was looking to share shipping costs. Monty

pdxhak 06-04-2007 10:44 AM

I have not seen your car around lately so I assumed you moved :) As for the Zaino, I was going the Liquid Glass route. How much is Zaino?

mcstin 06-04-2007 11:30 PM

I am still here. I am not sure which Zaino products you want. One of my freinds and I need some of the polishing pads and did not want to spend $8 on shipping!!! I think the pads are $2 each. Zaino has a grat website.

I just did my wife's 2000 Acura TL and it feels like a new car. by the way I am selling the Acura as her new G35 arrived yesterday.

Hey, I bought my rx8 in Beaverton, then drove it to California where I am now. Those were the first 1500 miles on the car.

I grew up in Portland/Beaverton; a lot has changed in 20 years in the area now called "Cedar Hills" shopping center...

I think it was about $75 for the kit I got. It's a very long process the first time you do it, but it definitely looks nice. Here's the thread that got me sold (Jedi is crazy for the stuff):

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-show-shine-26/zainod-my-car-first-time-brilliant-black-76125/

I just finished doing it for the first time:

Wash the entire car with dawn dish soap
Clay bar the car (I did the hood twice)
Wash the car with their car wash soap and dry
Apply a layer of z2 and buff off
Spray and buff a layer of z6
Apply a layer of z2 and buff
Spray and buff a layer of z6
Apply a layer of z5 and buff
Spray and buff a layer of z6

In reality it was a much longer process for me because I did it over the course of a few days and my car was outside, so there were a few extra wash and dry steps. Total it must have been at least 6 hours. Once you do this whole process once you don't have to do it for a long time.

I'm usually speeding around Intel Ronler in a WB. Honk if you see me, I only ever pay attention to cars that are in my way.

BunnyGirl 06-14-2007 01:12 AM

Other side of town than me. I'm east of the Willamette, generally in the Clackamas/Oregon City area usually. My boyfriend lives on a little street that runs between Barbur Blvd. and Capital Hwy. so I'm over in that area pretty often.

i need to have a cookout sometime this summer and have all of you over. i havent had a cookout since 2004. im in tigard mostly

pdxhak 06-14-2007 10:23 AM

zoom44,

Sounds like a great idea!

Saw a few 8's yesterday on the way home from downtown. Coming out of the tunnel a red GT and a black kitted 8 with a personal license plate, 1st RX8. Similar graphics as the Cork Sports car but different color. Also saw Ti Gray at Cedar Hills.

I'm on the East side of Vancouver now, but I visit family in Hillsboro fairly often. I won tickets to the Champ Car race last weekend including VIP parking. There was a VR 8 parked next to me after the race.

I work off of Karl Braun in Beaverton and live in Forest Grove

Mine is a bone stock '06 Galaxy Gray GT.

jefferrari 06-15-2007 02:05 PM

I am new to portland... 3 wks... just got internet set up last week. I live near mall 205 and work in swan island. nice to meet you all.

pdxhak 06-15-2007 03:30 PM

I work near Swan Island! Who do you work for?

BunnyGirl 06-16-2007 01:20 AM

Mall 205 isn't too far past my work. I work at Kaiser Sunnyside. So I'm usually there or hanging out at Robbie's store in Oregon City. Anyone need a good vacuum or sewing machine? LOL

CivesPDX 06-17-2007 07:29 PM

I dont post much on these forums, but find it weird how many other 8's you guys see day to day. I honestly am lucky if I see 1 every week, if not longer.

I have an 06' pearl and live in the woodstock area.

BunnyGirl 06-19-2007 09:58 AM

I live in the Beavercreek area and there is something like three or four in this kinda spendy housing development right off Beavercreek Rd. Interestingly, there was only a lady with a red one that I met at a post office once when my car was still on order. Then I got my car and shortly thereafter Janet got a blue one that looks pretty much identical to mine. And then someone around last summer a guy with a phantom blue one showed up in the same general area as that housing development, and now there is a silver or gray one (haven't gotten close enough to tell for sure) in the same general area. Oh, and somebody out in the area bought a used yellow one in the last six months. I haven't followed them to see where they live yet, though. LOL

It's kinda funny how many there are out in my general location, because it is a rural area.

pdxhak 08-31-2007 02:02 PM

Saw new or new/used White RX-8 in Murray Hills on 155th today. Seen several others in the Beaverton area over the last week or so.

93rdcurrent 08-31-2007 05:46 PM

I have seen a few and I'm in the beaverton/Hillsboro area. If you see a Ti Grey with a young gentleman at the helm (what are the odds... ;) ) say hello. :)

Luftwaffle 09-04-2007 01:18 AM

You know what's weird? I see every color BUT Ti Grey here. I've seen a lot of yellows, blues, reds, and silvers. In NYC, all I saw was Ti Grey. It's like the complete opposite here.

pdxhak 09-04-2007 11:49 AM

LOL I see a few TiG's around the area. Saw one yesterday in Beaverton which could have been 93rdcurrent.

I resemble that remark...

Was I wearing black sunglasses, listening to loud music, and have yellow fog lights? If so you caught me. :)

pdxhak 09-05-2007 10:01 AM

There was a driver and a passenger and the driver was wearing a hat (yellow or yellow on it?) by Hall Blvd and Albertsons grocery store.

pdxhak 09-05-2007 10:06 AM

Exchanged a wave with a nice VR with MS kit leaving Murray-Schools shopping center the other day. We definitely have lots of 8's running around our area.
