Help! Wife flooded motor and i am in yakima.
 

My darling....loving wife... decided to move the car back... on a hill mind u. And then only rev it@ 5k for 10 secs....*cough cough bs! Cough* so...

Can neone help me out by going and pulling 2spark plugs, turn over motor n replace? Or remove fuel fuse? (Neverhave done fuel fuze method) I live in gig harbor. Text me at 253 282 6779

MT?...or AT?

If it's a MT...just tow it till it starts.....way easier :)

1. Hook up jumper cables to keep from draining your battery

2. Pres acc pedal all the way down (RX8 will cut fuel to the engine during start like this)

3. Crank the engine enough to clear the flooded chamber out. 10-20 seconds of starting with enough rest between to keep the starter from killing itself.

4. Keep the acc pedal down between cranks until your done with with #3.

5. Remove your foot from the acc pedal, hope for the best and see if she starts. Otherwise, go back to #2.

Took me a half hour or more to get it going after I flooded mine.

I think you guys are missing that its his wife ... and judging from the way his post sounds ... these steps would be far too complicated for her heh

i called and talked her through it. I think. The OP is stress trying to do it from another place. Loosen up man. I know its hard when the first words were i dont know anything about cars but drive them. Oh well think we got it.

haha it wasnt to bad compared to the stuff ive taked the girlfriend through over the phone:lol:. I believe alot of the issue was due to bad coils:banghead:. either way she should always be able to get it from now on the first time is always the worst.:biggthump

Am still surprise about this flooding!
I had a 86 Rx7, 91 Rx7 twin turbo, and now I have my Rx8, and I have never had any problem with flooding, I never heard of it back home (Puerto Rico) and I do move the car out of the garage to washing it and the putting it back in or going to the local Safeway, about 1 minute or one block alway, getting bread for breakfast and driving back or going to work about 2 miles down the street, haft way true the day I go to the bank 1/2 mile down get out get change, and drive back and three hour later drive back home, 2 miles again!

No, I do not warm it up, but I do take my time driving it in-till it gets warm, mainly not going over 3,000 rpm per shift! I do all my maintenance my self and some time I think I treat her better then my wife, but yet again she does not fight with me at all, LOL!!!

So I guest I had been very luck, or could this be do to bad maintenance or driving your car hard all the times?

I always revved it after the move in or out of the garage for a wash and never had an issue....till last month. It only takes a flooded engine one time to convince me to drive it around the block every time I need to movie it.

I've never flooded mine, but have de-flooded others and it can be a pain sometimes.
I always just go for a little spin around the block or two.

I just flooded mine for the first time about 12 hours ago, can't get it to go and I tried push starting it, starter fluid, the works. First time it ever happened and because I started if and accidentally stalled it. Would like some immediate advice I was told not to let it sit over night

It should be fine. Mine sat over night, and I didn't even know it was flooded. Actually, it prob sat more then 24 hours. Anyways, the key to this is making sure you have a car attached to yours by the batteries. Cause if you don't, the battery of the 8 will drain and your car will die for sure. then try to turn the car on with the GAS pedal to the FLOOR. This way the car won't add any gas to your engine. Keep trying to start the car for 8 seconds, then stop for a minute, then start the process over again. Tons of smoke will come out of the exhaust, but don't be alarmed. Keep doing so until it kicks over and starts, and when it starts to die, let off the gas slowly. You're trying to burn all the gas out of your engine.

By the time it would start for more then a minute, we just played with the gas pedal to push out all the smoke until there was none left.

The key is the extra car. For sure.

^.................actually, since it's a manual, the easiest way is to pull start it.
18mph in 2nd gear and let the clutch out. Don't hit the pulling car, immediately go to neutral and keep it running. Then go for a long spirited drive!

If it was an auto, then I might try your way, but there are also other ways if what you say doesn't work on an auto. Searching will reveal them.

Hahaha thanks but after all was said and done it sat for 24 hours flooded and I yanked out the fuel relay, hooked it up to the diesel trucks batteries and she fired up after a few minutes, ran for almost 2 minutes without the fuel turned on lol
