The answer is yes they are legal as long as they conform to the following requirements as stated in Title 46 of the Revised Code of Washington as it applies to Motor Vehicles:
----
RCW 46.37.100
Color of clearance lamps, side marker lamps, back-up lamps, and reflectors.
(1) Front clearance lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color.
----
The key phase being "display...an amber color". As long as the bulb glows amber you're OK. There are other laws about placement of the lamp and visibility from certain distances if your curious.

Port Angeles, Washington, I was born there. As you can see from the Avatar I'm driving a Lightning Yellow RX-8, 6spd. Sport Package, Rotory Accent Pakage, Rear Wing Spoiler, and Spare Tire Kit.
Have ordered the strakes, front air dam, and Dark Chrome Wheels from Rosenthal, my local dealer will install. Also have the Racing Beat drop in Air Filter (aFe) while the CAI is being developed by them.

Just met a new Sunlight Silver owner at the Olympia Auto Mall Car Wash today! Told him about the club, and he had no idea there was such a thing... I wonder how we can get the word out to more people about the forum other than spotting them on the road and tracking them down.
I already forgot your name, but if you log on this forum let me know. We have a rotary meet every 2nd Tuesday at Izzy's Pizza.

Another Nordic Green Puget Sounder
Brought home "Roxy" on Saturday. She's an '04 GT MT in Nordic Green. Purchased from Lee Johnson in Kirkland with minimal haggling. (Purchased at invoice less $1500 rebate. Refused to pay the dealer's B&O tax.) Awaiting the currently on-hold "M Flash."
Having difficulty holding down the revs for the first 600-1000 miles, but otherwise enjoying a fantastic ride. Considering accessories. Waiting for a sunny day for photos.
Located in Sammamish. Would enjoy sharing perspectives over a beer.
Is it my imagination or are there more Nordic Green RX-8's in the Northwest than elsewhere?

Welcome jsh1120! Glad to hear there's another Nordic Green in the NW! Isn't it an awesome color? I think you might have a bit of a wait for a sunny day
Tell me about the break in period! I hit 125mph "by mistake" overtaking a logging truck the first week, but I tried to keep the revs down for the remaining 1k miles. Racing Beat has some simple break in guidelines which you might find helpful.
If your car is recent inventory you might already have the M flash installed, but its worth finding out for sure.

jsh1120, I'll take you up on the beer idea. I'm in Redmond.
I've got a colleague in from Germany this week, so I'll have to find some time to take him out for a real ride. Earlier in the month he had one of our Project Managers out on the autobahn (sp?) at 200kph with the windows down and Strauss (hey, we're eclectic in biotech) blasting. Only problem, his car is an Opal.

Multiple Sightings on East Lake Sammamish...
...between Issaquah and Redmond, Wa. With our lousy weather the last few weeks and the early darkness I haven't been able to tell if it's black or nordic green (like mine.) Anybody here?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to learning about this very comfortable and fun car. Although it's my wife's car, I get to take care of it, which means I drive it sometimes . I'm trying to talk her into taking a high perfromance driving school, not so she'll track the car, but just so she'll know its strengths and foibles. I can't drive it on the track, since I don't fit in it with my driving helmet , but that's ok, cuz I do fit in my S2000 with the helmet on :D She watched me drive on the track once, and was scared to death just watching, so we'll see about getting her on the track. Of course, she helicopter skis, which I consider much more dangerous than driving 130mph on a track :p .

Well I don't have an 8 but if I ever did buy a new car that would be it. I've been seeing some nice FE's around Everett lately. I like them more every time I see one.

I'm planning on getting my 8 sometime this Summer (probably June or July). Want to get a good down payment in and plus, there'll be beautiful weather to cruise around in on the first day I get it! Hey Gladiatoiz, where did you get your 8 and what kinds of options does it have? I used to out in Troutdale near you but now I'm on the edge of Portland near Gresham =)

I have several bikes.
Aprilia Falco - 1000 CC V-twin sport-tourer. Italian. Beautiful on the eyes and rides like a dream!
Kawasaki ZX6RR - 600cc inline four. This is my track *****. It is not even street legal.
Suzuki DR400 - 400 cc thumper. I fixed it up as a dual sport so I can go off and on road with it.
Bajaj Scooter - just cuz it is fun to park a scooter next to the harleys!
