Kristopher, Have you been there before? I looked at the website and it sounds like they bought the land to make a park there in Feb '06, but it says the area will be closed until they have the funds to develop it. There is a map, but it looks like a proposed design for it. It's only been a year since they bought it. Does anyone know anything else about it?

kristopher_d, know anyone else coming from our side of town that would want to train down there? Did you see my post about meeting up somewhere around the Eastside before hand?

No, I haven't been there. As usual, I'm sort of shooting from the hip, and using the web to get close. I was noticing that today as well. I'll do a little more digging. An alternate meeting location may be required.

Tokin, sorry, I missed your earlier post. We can certainly caravan down together. I'm not sure if there's anyone else from this area. I know the Renton folks meet up at the valley cinemas, though that's a bit out of the way for us. Not too bad though.

I'll see if I can get any more info on West Bay Park and post any adjustments tonight.

It's a good thing you guys are paying enough attention to catch me when I'm a dope.

three options for place to meet.
1. It look like on deschutes pky sw there's an area for parking. I know there's lot of people that like to go walking there.
2. We could meet at Izzy's pizza parking lot, were the rx7 have there monthly meeting.
3. a little bit more down the road it Lock's like there's a marina.

You're right about the park, it isn't open yet.

I like option 3 'cause it makes for the smallest change, keeps us out of retail lots, and we seem to know about where it is.

Thanks for fixing the issue Anibal. Now to update the docs.

1 Day left to sign up. The weather forecasts are showing sun for Sunday, so plan on BBQing. Remember, if you don't sign up, it'll be tough to gage how many people are coming, and food quantities may suffer.

A couple of other notes. We'll be meeting a W Bay Marina instead of W Bay Park. Someone noticed that the park isn't open yet. The Marina is a just a short way North on W Bay Dr. Also, the directions have been updated to include a stop at Schafer State Park for lunch.

I'd be up for meeting there, (East Valley Cinema, right off 167/East Valley Hwy?) Got a time?

Kristopher, I'm such a n00b - I couldn't figure out how to post on TWR, so I'm going to ask you here... It's gotta be a lot of work to do the new route cards... how can we repay you? Are you going to set up something to do that?

Right, and where the hell am I going? Linda as Co-driver I expect you to have intimate and detailed knowledge of the route including dirty turns and LEO hangouts.

See you all Sunday. Mortis isn't broken in yet, but it should be by the end of the day, or just about.

Yeah, I've still got bugs to work out on that site, and renaming/repositioning of a number of buttons is a definite must.

As for the other topic, let's be sure I got it right before jumping ahead, then I think I'll want to speak with the regulars off-line about it. I want to keep it all as open as possible.

For anyone who wants to drive to Olympia together, let's meet here ^^^ at 9:15am. We'll take off no later than 9:30. That should put us at the Marina in Olympia between 10:15 and 10:30.

I've got my contribution for the BBQ all ready to go, so pray for sun again tomorrow

Oh, and Kristopher - For planning purposes, I'm thinkin' it's gonna take us a couple of hours to get home from Pacific Beach, right? WHOOPS! I just mapped it out and the route back home to Renton says 3 hours!

Yeah, I'd say 2-3 hours is probably pretty darned close. Thank goodness its not quite camping season yet, or it would be longer.

Tokin, I'd suggest you meet up with the Renton gang. I'm planning on getting to the Marina as close to 10 as possible. That way there's a much lower likelihood of someone showing up and being discourage by not seeing anyone else. Somebody's gotta be first, right.

A couple of last minute thoughts: If you have FRS/GMRS radios, please bring them. If not, don't sweat it. And as Linda already indicated, it's probably best to get any shopping you need to do done tonight. I just finished putting the map-books together and cleaning my grill, so now it's time for one more trip out to the store.

What time do you think we'll get to Pacific Beach?

Whoops, sorry Kristopher, I wasn't thinking about you having to be there right at 10! Did you want to go with us or by yourself? We could adjust the time if you want.

I'll bring my radios. I've got 2 sets.

OK, I've not gotten any preperation done, got wrapped up with other stuff today. SO, expect me on time but half full of gas, dirty, and unprepared.

Pretty Much Normal!

See you all in the AM...

LOL!

I had a blast today, thanks everyone for coming. Once again the 8's were outnumbered, though ours was the most represented marque. I'm so VERY sorry about the dirt roads. My maps say they're paved ??? oh well, now we can all be fairly certain we've gone where few sports cars dare.

Another awesome drive Kristopher!!! Hey, the roads just made it more adventurous for us and we've got some good stories and pics of dirty cars to show off Fun group today - hope we see you again!

Sorry we rushed off. My 12 year old Black Lab was home alone and needed to be let outside badly. He was in the house for 10 hours and no accidents - yay!

Thanks for bringing the RC RX8's for me Annibal!!

Volney - I'll make sure I get your radio back to you. We need to schedule time with Flomulgator to help us install our puddle lights. Oh yeah, and do our calipers.

And Keith - THANKS for letting me be co-pilot in your maiden TWR voyage with Mortis. It was AWESOME doing a buck forty in a cushy quiet rocket! And I learned a LOT, again! Sorry your windshield took such a bad hit on the way back

Good Stuff, Though I'll admit getting a burly Star in my windshield was frustrating... Had a great time though, and I couldn't thin of a better way to break in a New car.

And yeah, the twisties more than made up for dirty cars, besides I got to drive the new car on a dirt road and was pleased with how it rode...

Good Stuff, If really Long...

Cheers.
