8 Portland Area Meet?
 

Well, I picked up my 8 just over a week ago, and have seen a few here and there, but I'm sure there are more out there. There used to be quite a few meets back when I used to rock my WRX around, and I was curious if there are some out there. If not, lets put one together. Maybe even a drive. I really just wanna get out there and meet you other enthusiasts. Anyway, post up on here. If we have enough interest, we can set a date. If just a few, we can just meet at my place on a hot day. I know of a nice drive up to a state park near by, with a damn good view, and we can chill and bar-b-que at my place, with a full size in ground pool/diving board, etc.

if not just a boring meet in a parking lot, we could take our 3-moving-parts madness to a restaurant if wanted.

I and my roomate are in the salem area and just got 8's. We would be glad to meet up and talk "Shop". I am a former lancer ralliart driver that saw the light of the 8 lol. He is a former gutless civic driver lol. Hit me up and let me know. Only thing is the weekends are only time we got except the first weekend in August. We have National Gaurd play weekend that weekend.

Sounds good man. I'm not sure if I will be around this weekend, but possibly. If so, I will post it up. You guys could come on up, chill by the pool, hang out, bar-b-que, then perhaps take a little drive:) Anyway, I'll be in touch.

This weekend would be tough. we Just moved up here. soonest we could do it would be either the following weekend or second weekend in aug. may be easier to grab more 8 tuners the second weekend due to time. :lol: Either way we are game for anything. We wouldn't mind coming up and coolin it. I got alot to learn, besides the fact a stock RX8 can eat a Corvette ZO6 for lunch when the RX8 driver gets boxed in and pissed on I-5 lol

Hmmm, must not have been a straight line thing, or a fuel mileage thing for that matter.

Speaking from experience here. Don't get me wrong, I love the 8, but it still has a lot of room for improvement.

Nah it was a " Holy Sh$& " thing lol I went to auto stick, paddled to 2nd and redlined out like a thief with a college girl's panties. :spank: lol IT WAS GREAT to see him react and not catch me lol. I was maybe 2 cars legnths up by the time I saw him gun it and wish lol

not to be a dick, but i dont think he was trying. those things eat our cars alive in a straight line. I have seen a stock one do a 10.9x on stock tires.

it will be nice to have meet on the first week of every month and somewhere in portland or near gresham. i would love to come to a meet but mostly i have tournament to go to or work. and some off the meet is just to far for me. hopefully yall will have one close.

I'm game for a meet/drive! Preferably before 8/5 or after 8/12 because I'm oncall.

well i was just kind of testing the waters with this. because 8 owners are kind of few and far between, id like to make it convenient for everyone. lets keep seeing the interest, and go from there. i will make it accompany everyone

just let me know a week ahead or so. so i can get if off from el-worko

Well A solid weekend deal is a great idea. I may or may not be able to make all of them due to my National Gaurd status, bit will make all the meets I can. I have alot to learn about this car, and alot of experience in the car club/show industry. Would be alot of fun to roll into a show with a convoy of RX-8's lol:lol:

sounds good guys. lets just play it by ear. im away from portland, out in madras, working road construction, working 60 hours a week or so, working like 6 days. from here im going to prineville, then to sun river. not sure how long ill be out here, but im making bank. gonna kit my car, and prob lower it, and maybe a few more things with some of the money, and pay some more off on the loan. anyway, keep on here, ill organize something. take it easy guys.

just got a set of toyo proxes 4 cant wait to break them in anyone have them. i know they got a excellent review. maybe we should take a ride to the coast (seaside) or something got some winding roads..or maybe just organize a big mazda meet rx8's, rx7's ,miata's 3's and 6's would be a blast

If it's on a Sunday (my day off) pretty much any weekend will work for me as I rarely have any plans that can't be broken, if at all.

We live off market and Park, and work at the airfield on turner accross from Walley world
