Rx8 swap questions. Please help

I am doing a ls1 rx8 swap... I know probably not the best info to start off with. people hate these swaps. And I respect that. but wrecked gto + rx8 with 2nd bad engine = the screw it, why not zone...lol anyways. I have a couple questions that maybe someone can help me with. I have looked on this site and haven't really seen anything to answer it so i hoped someone could.....

The ppf under the car. is it possible to delete it? its mounted to the rear end so I'm guessing if theres a way to delete it then it would involve a cross member for the transmission and a mount for the rear end. The only mount i found for the rear end was one to help support it more, not to get rid of the ppf.

how are people doing these swaps without the ppf? i understand cross member for the trans , but what are the doing for the rear end? :icon5:

I want to get rid of the ppf. If anyone out there knows of a mount or a kit that will make this possible please let me know.

I'm hoping to get rid of it so i can make room for dual exhaust. and if that was out of the way it would be soooooo much better.

THANKS for taking the time to read this. and please help if you can..

From what I've heard, our diffs aren't great and can't handle the kind of power a stronger LS can muster. Have you thought about getting a Ford 8.8 and using the V8 Roadsters diff mounting kit?

8.8 Differential Conversion - V8 Roadsters

Maybe ask them for a price sans driveshaft cause holy crap, that's as much money as their entire mounting kit, and surely the diff mount is the cheapest part of that. For my swap, I had a driveshaft place by me make me an alum driveshaft for $300 which they guaranteed for life.

Otherwise, I know Hinson sold a torque arm that bolted from the trans to the diff, but it sounds like you're mounting it all yourself, so it probably won't quite fit. I'm not sure you're gonna get any better than what's essentially just a smaller PPF cause of how the diff mounts.

Good luck
