Got the mounts on last night. Need to tap the bung for the outlet to the heater hose and find a 90deg hose barb.

Loving the radiator mods, I ordered parts last week to convert my hoses to 16AN

Looking great so far!

Thanks! It's always good to hear something positive every once and awhile. I think my upper radiator hose totaled around $250. That big AN stuff is pricey.

I need to get that heater hose connected to that water pump inlet that sits in the valley. I have a tube left over from the Aerio that's perfect for the job. The tube needs to run behind the right head which is the head that's shifted forward. Clearence like it was meant to be.

The heater pipe is made from an Isuzu tube that fits the engine to a bend from some tube off the RX8 to a section of tube left over from the Aerio engine to a nipple cut from the same RX8 tube.

Fan shroud. Also found a nice 16" fan on craigslist for $25.

And finally got the countersink on the fuel rails for the o-ring.

I'm using a single single-speed fan but will retain factory high/low control using the RX8's original ECU, relays, and wiring. No chopping required! Mod found HERE.

Made a tool to form 6061-T6 aluminum tubing. Worked like a charm!

That came out pretty awesome. You should polish up the inside of that manifold and put a clear cover over the top

The gasoline vapors would discolor and weaken the plastic. Its getting a bolt-on cover but it'll be aluminum for now.

Glass doesn't hold up well in automotive use. Subaru demonstrated this in their transmissions.

This is what I'm going to wind up doing for the fuel feed line. The pump will get plumbed to a bulkhead fitting on the top of the sending unit. From there it's soft line to the filter which will be under the car. The one in the image is a '84 Corvette but it'll work for now. From the filter it's adapted to 3/8" hard line to the engine bay. The end gets a flare to AN8 that will run hose under the intake to a Y then a pair of AN6s to the front of the fuel rails. The rear of the rails are AN6 to the Aeromotive regulator. The regulator out goes to the old RX8 fuel line which is now the return to the tank where it'll be routed to the jet pump. And I bought a 90A alternator.

Got the engine side harness opened up to grab various connectors, like the coils.

The other length of AN 16 hose for the radiator lines, ignition coils, and various fittings are on the way. I started plumbing the fuel rails. Feed runs under the intake and Y splits to feed the front of the rails. Still waiting on the driveshaft jig from the machine shop.

Here's the excuses! :D

I was waiting on Prescription8 to have another transmission flange machined. I think I made an error on mine so I gave him the corrections to apply to his flange. If it fits, I'll have to source another flange. It took months for him to get it machined. He just picked it up today.

Secondly, the rest of my fuel lines were on backorder from Summit. I received a letter (from the post office) from them stating something about export trade agreements from China, couldn't get the lines, bla bla bla, and that they refunded the payment. I haven't checked back with them yet to find replacements. I'm going to be pissed if I can't get the same type of hose.

I still need to order a new lock ring for the fuel sending unit. Mine exploded into 3 pieces when I tried to unscrew it. Even made the tool to do it and held the locking tabs. I'll add the return line when I put that back together.

Finally, I'm working on another project that's taking all of mine time and money. Once they go into production I'll have some car funds again.

Here's the prototype of one of the parts (power supply).

Yes it's 15k 3w. This supply is for a mobile tube amplifier I'm designing. The B+ supply is 300v and the the 15k provides a 50v drop for the 250v preamp supply. Only 4ma though. The size just keeps it cooler.

Dude, that is awesome in more ways than most will understand on this forum. I'm not an audio guy but am really into electronics. A tube amp at that voltage will produce such a warm sound. Do you have more info on the project you can link me too?
