3 floods in 5+ years.
1st was a few months after I bought it before I knew how to care for it properly, bad coil and fouled plug, 2nd was a bad battery several years later, and the 3rd about a year ago is a mystery, but I suspect I pocket pushed the trunk lid release on the remote & the trunk light stayed on all night to weaken the battery, but I'm not sure.
I do that a lot.
I treat it like any other car I've ever had as far as start ups, moving it & shutting it off cold, etc...
I don't believe in all of the mythical 'flood prevention' procedures that are so common here.

Never flooded my car and I've shut it down cold many times.
If your starter, battery, and ignition system are healthy, flooding shouldn't be an issue.
If you're feeling paranoid, blip the throttle to 3-4k and shut it down as the tach needle drops.
