Why are my dash lights flashing
I bought this rx8 in april. I replaced coils, wires, plugs, battery, starter, solenoids, new exaust system headers back
And high flow cat and two greddy mufflers. But the car still has problems. Then I noticed the positive battery terminal part wasn't fully tight and could have been arking. I tightened it and thought maybe it'll be better. Nope. Now the dash lights keep flashing when key is in and started for first five minutes. Then stop flashing and act like normal. Except I cant redline and when I try the engine light flashes. When key is tookin out the headlight beep sound comes on like it thinks the headlights are still on. Then goes off in two minutes. Also hear a clicking noise from one of the fuses under the hood but fuse isnt blown To sum up the dash lights are flashing. The rmp guage, radio brake lights and turn lights flash. No cell lights flash. Maybe e_shaft sensor or ecu idk |
You need to check your charging system and test the connections at the battery and the fuses. The flashing check engine light means there is a misfire but you are having electrical issues and an intermittent battery connection issue or a faulty alternator can cause all of these issues. You could also have a short so start by looking for any aftermarket wiring that has been done on the car if any.

Thanks for the quick reply.Could the electrical problem cause the misfire and unable to redline. I don't know if my alternator is bad. The car does shut off sometimes while running so probably. When my battery terminal was loose could I have fried something maybe the ecu? The only wiring that's aftermarket is for the amp when there was a sound system. Also the fuse box is ticking when key is in. No fuses are blown tho

Fuse box clicking but no blown fuse
When I put the key in the ignition and turn to on my dash lights start flashing and I hear a clicking noise from fuse box that's under the hood. When the car starts the flashing stops after 5 minutes. What would cause this. I've replaced the battery and no luck

Guess noone knows

Clicking is a relay, you need to have someone check it out that knows something about vehicle electronics. And don't start multiple threads relating to the same subject.
I'll make as many new threads as I feel like. You don't have to read them.
If anyone answered my question from the first 2 posts then I wouldn't of had to make a 3rd
Wait for it.

You you need to have someone skilled in these types of issues look at your car. No one here can guess as to what is happening to your car over the internet as it could be many things causing your issues. The issue needs to troubleshooted and starting multiple threads is not going to fix your problem.
Wait for what.

9k see what happens when that slacker pearl is away from 8club

I did fix most of the problems and the flashing dash lights go off when the dimmer is all the way up. I thought maybe someone on this rx8 forum would of had the same light problem. But there is no threads about it
You have multiple issues going on, there are no thread about your light problem because your "light problem" is a symptom of bigger issues that need to be addressed by someone with the skill to do so.
That's the only issue. the car drives fine. It never did this before until I tightened the battery terminal. If it was a major issue it wouldnt stop flashing when the car is started. And I do have the skill to fix it just no time.
So what did you do to fix the stalling and misfiring? Again, if you are having cluster issues and a constant clicking in the fuse box then you need to have it addressed before it creates a huge problem.
I replaced the alternator and one of the new coils was blown from the start. It's not a constant clicking it stops when the car is started
So it stays clicking while the car is off then?
it only clicks when the key is in and car is off
Merged

What position is the key in and what relay is clicking? Come on man, if you want help you need to be specific. |
It's in the on position. The flasher relay is clicking. And it still clicks when I take the fuse out
