Speaker static HELP!!
Our new RX8 has a VERY LOUD static coming from the speakers. All the modes work and the navigation works, you can hear the music if you turn the volume way up. I have never heard a static this loud before. The last owner thought it was the navigation system. DOes anyone know what may cause this or where I need to start? HELP!!! I NEED MUSIC!!

Could be a loose wire in the depths of the dash. Take it to a car audio shop, and just get a quote and walk away, but make sure they tell you exactly what's wrong.

There might be a short circuit or something disrupting the sound waves...

Did this ever get fix? I have the same problem. At first it was one speaker, not very loud music . The music would drown out the static. Every other time I close the door, the speaker would come back on temporary. After a week of this Suddenly speakers started dropping left and right. the static was very loud and I have aftermarket head and subs. The subs work perfectly. The speakers no longer can can be mute or turn down. So I have to turn off my head unit completely to stop this agressively loud static from every speaker. Could it be as simple as a loose wire or do I have to replace the stock amp.

Definitely sounds like a problem with the amp. Your aftermarket setup probably ruined the stock amp. It wasn’t designed to push subwoofers.

Thanks for the reply. Well my aftermarket amp only touches my aftermarket subs. So the only thing different is the head unit. I guess I'll search the forums for a new amp

Does the static change with engine rpm? If whatever was loose is grounding out, you'd get static from noise in the electrical system. |
