Smile new 2004 rx8 owner

hey everyone. i now am the proud owner of a 2004 6mt rx8 with 181,000 miles on the ORIGINAL, yes i did say the ORIGINAL engine. good compression, no excessive oil consumption. runs smooth. as all should. ive been reading on here and seems there really arent many 04 rx8's with high milage on orignal engine. so figured id post and prove the renny is capable if treated right. if anyone has some advice id certainly love to hear it.

Yeah these things are amazing.

Just dont start the car to move it a few feet and turn it off. If you start it, drive it a few miles atleast.

Welcome to the forum! 181 thousand miles on original engine is impressive! How many owners this car had? What kind of maintenance was done? Premix? Any mods?

Yea I've been reading up on these for a good year or two before I bought it. I've got all the do's and don't down. I typically start it up 10 minutes before I actually drive off. Keep it under 4k until its fully warmed up. Only thing with mine is the pilot bearing is sqweaking. I came from a 2004 mustang 5speed and it did the same when I bought it. This car is a world a difference than the stang was and I love all of it.

I've got an axialflow short throw and new plugs, wires and coils. I'm the 3rd owner. I'm in the national guard and bought it off a buddy from drill. He had most of the tsb and recall stuff done after warrenty lol. Cost a pretty penny. But it starts normally. Doesn't have any major flaws really. Everything works. Paints good. I drilled two tiny holes for the tail lights and new rear tires other than that she's stock. I've made a few minor diy mods like extending the coolant overflow hose. But overall super solid.
