A Sad Day Indeed

:crying:Well guys, the time has come in my life where the car had to go.:crying:

I'm getting married next year, soon to start a family, and I need a truck for work, so I finally traded the RX-8 in for a 2012 Dodge 1500 4x4. (Not by choice)

This car was a constant project that I was always proud of, and I ended up getting 115,000 miles on the motor before it lost compression.

I have been an avid reader of these forums since 2004 when I bought the car, never posted, but the general collection of knowledge you guys have on this forum is amazing.

I appreciate all the laughs, knowledge, DIY's, sarcasm, and all the rought times this forum has gotten me through with this mechanical nightmare that is a rotary engine, but i wouldn't have changed it for the world.

You guys are awesome. This forum is awesome. This car is awesome, & I will really miss it.

That being said, I am getting my posts up to add some parts to the For sale section shortly. So keep an eye open for some goodies from me in the next few days.

BTW, anyone know how many posts I need before i can start a thread in the FS section?

God this was a good looking car. Last picture before the sale

Mod Edit: FS threads are only permitted in the classifieds. The announcement has instructions for how to get it lifted without the posts if needed.

Shoulda kept it.

Come on, someone had to say it. Gotta do what you gotta do man, but at least you got to enjoy it for a while.

Yeah, I had it for almost 9 years. So it was a pretty good run

I've made arrangements to be buried in mine.

you have good will power. Me, on the other hand, I always envisioned the 8 as the ideal sports car I could get AFTER getting married and having 2 kids, which is what I did :)

See that is exactly what I would have preferred. With all the time and money I had invested in that car I might as well have lost a child.

Thanks, I appreciate the encouragement.
It will be fun, just a different kind of fun then the RX8 was.
I'm looking at this truck as if it was a blank canvas. Just needs a little love.

And I envy you sir.
If I didn't have other expenses and necessities they would have had to pry the steering wheel from my cold dead fingers

AthensSilver8 08-10-2013 02:45 PM

I would like to know what is to become of my car though.
If anyone in the Athens Area buys a SS 2004 RX-8, don't screw it up. Please.
I would love to see what you will turn it into.
Maybe it wont be a disaster, but I imagine some high schooler who thinks he's a professional drifter driving it around, bound to wreck it in a matter of months
