S1 vs s2 iron differences

I just pulled the keg apart on my 05 and it appears the front rotor came loose from the bearing and ate into the center iron. When ordering a replacement rotor and center iron can i use series 2 as well or is there a difference in the two engines.

thanks in advance
Dave

Sorry to revive the dead thread, but I am wondering the same thing, as I have a crack in my rear iron on one of the tension bolt holes.

Looking at the fact that the rear iron is S1 and S2 specific, I would think it wouldn't work but I dont know 100%. Even if it did I still would prefer the correct iron. All or nothing. The rotors are interchangable but not a rear iron.

Ok, given that the distinction is made, I would assume there is some difference that prevents a bolt in swap, and I think I found a decent used S1 iron, but I was just curious if anyone knew the exact differences.
