RX-8 Hard Starting

Hey guys, I know there is probably already a thread for this somewhere but I couldn't find it so I just started a new one...Anyway I'm new to the RX-8 platform. Just purchased it last week and so far the only problem i'm noticing is that it doesn't want to start after I have driven it for a while and shut it off. I try and start it and it will turn over just fine but acts like it wont fire. I have cleaned the MAF sensor and checked the plugs and cleaned those as well along with air filter and simple things like that so far. has anyone else had the same problem and actually found the solution? Thanks

What I have read is that hard starting after the engine is warmed up could be a couple thing's. One possible and worse case would be that your engine is sorta worn out (low compression). Another is that it could be a bad starter or bad battery ( not spinning engine fast enough). These are just a couple thing's I've read here on the site. Hope this helped some.

Normally hot start problems are compression.

It could be a weak starter yes or a weak fuel pump.

Thanks for all the info guys, just as an additional note that I forgot to add, It does fine cranking and I did go through and tighten the battery terminals already but when I go to start it, it helps if I give it a little throttle. It doesn't work every time but that seems to be the only way to get it to start. Again thanks for all the info you all have given me already!

If cranking over is not the problem as you stated then I would look into doing a compression test.

Will it start right away when the engine is dead cold?
