Rotor Housings

I have a 2004 RX8 6 port with 134,xxx miles on it. Obviously its time for a rebuild  but im worried that since the car has so many miles on it, my rotor housings are trash. Im in the process of pulling the engine so i can take it to get rebuilt, but is there any indication if my housings are bad, or a test i can run? If they are kinda bad but not beyond repair, what would be the best option to repair them? A cold compression check says 35,37,80 if that helps at all.

2 low readings and one better one usually means that one apex seal is bad in that rotor. It could be anything from a stuck seal to a cracked or bricked one that has spun around inside and wrecked the housing.

You basically have to take it apart to check the condition of parts ...so if you are DIY that is your next step. If someone else is going to do it....better to send it out intact so you don't wreck any usable parts

Thanks, one thing concerning to me also is that instead of all antifreeze, a 75% water 25% antifreeze was ran in the engine. Would this cause the housings to rust?

That mix should be fine. The housings are Aluminum and won't rust anyway. The irons are cast...and they can rust.....but it's not usually a huge problem with 25% antifreeze

99% chance the housings are toast .

Why would you say the housings are toast? Mileage?

almost all second hand housings with any sort of mileage are toast ..... even though a lot get reused .
