Rookie in the armpit of America

Good morning gents. Was lucky enough to pick up an 08 a couple days ago and looking forward to getting to know the vehicle. It was owned by an older lady, who put 29K miles on it. Read up here and knew not to buy the car without a compression test, thank you. Tests came back 7.6, 7.6, 7.3, which I read was ok, it was done at 297 rpm, which I know is high but I didn't think I could get much better, and didn't feel like spending the time testing every car on the eastern seaboard. I plan on flushing out all the fluids, would love to hear what you guys think is necessary. Will start doing seafoam and the premix as recommended. Also, want to lower the car a bit. Mostly for aesthetics and my funds are limited but I can always save up for later. Please let me know what you guys recommend. Keep in mind I live in NJ so the roads are shite. Look forward to being on here and possibly getting to know some of you. All the best.

Congrats -- they are fun cars, and depending on your goals, can be the perfect car.

You should have six compression readings, three for each rotor. 7.3-7.6 is acceptable compression. Sounds like the starter is already a revised unit, spinning to higher RPM, which is good.

Welcome!! Sounds like the engine is just fine. Those compression numbers are more than acceptable. Replacing all of the fluids is a great idea as they are 11 years old and likely nothing other than the engine oil has been changed. Would love to see some pictures of the car as well!!
